The beat way for Israel to defeat Hamas imo is to make real moves to peace. hamas is merely a reflection of the stance taken by Israel, meet fire with fire etc. Change tack and hamas is no longer the 'only option'.

One could equally say Hamas must make a unilateral move to peace. Especially as Hamas is an organisation whose defining aim is the destruction of a sovereign state through use of indiscriminatory violence. It's up to Israel to decide how best to negotiate - or not - with Hamas. It's very easy for us to say, with a bland well meaning magnanimity, that Israel should not meet fire with fire. But then we dont have to contend with rockets falling on the Home Counties do we? If we in Britain reserve the right to defend ourselves, as we see fit free from external interference, we should grant that right to others too.

Agreed. However if Hamas will not make peace then there is only limited options for Israel, continue as they are or just marginalise Hamas. I believe the onus lies with Israel to make the peace as they the dominate force and hold most of the cards.

And there'll be more aid for Hamas to steal.

Much easier to blow the hell out of Gaza though.
Indeed, and vice versa...
How about Israel stop demolishing Arab homes in East Jerusalem ?
How about.... ?
Pigs will fly if that ever happens...
Do you know, this thread was really active until I mentioned what I did.
Odd that...
