I've not been abroad much, that's why i'm interested in peoples experiences. I've been a few times though so i did like Lanzarote when i went, though i preferred Corfu. The scenery was fantastic as was the culture. Lanzarote was interesting though for things like going on safari's through the volcanic national park.
I also went to Majorca but i didn't care for it.
In this country i've just not long come back fro Dorset and the Poole/Sandbanks area. I liked it alot, again great scenery around the natural harbour and nice to have boat trips through the islands and dramatic coast. Though i found much more to do when i ventured into the more classic British seaside places like weymouth and bournemouth. Went Devon last year which again was nice, quite similar really.
Love Germany, beautiful country, such varied landscapes. Actually I quite like anywhere that I am lucky enough to be able to visit. I liked Fuerteventura too, warm and sunny and very relaxing.

South Devon.
Take a walk between Bolt Tail/Bolt Head to Start Point, taking in Soar Mill cove, the Ham Stone, the Great and Little Mewstones, the Range, Salcombe bar (Limebury point), the Wolf Rock, the Blackstone, leading lights (between the Poundstone beacon and on the shore), Starehole bay (see the wreck of the Herzogin Cecilie there *), Sharpitor, Millbay beach, Sunny cove, Gara sands, Venericks cove, Elender cove, Prawle point, Lanacombe beach, Mattiscombe beach etc. You won't regret it.
There is a Youth Hostel at Overbecks, if you want cheap accommodation.
You'll also need to take the ferry between Salcombe and East Portlemouth (go to the Ferry Inn on the Salcombe side). The ferry runs all year round between EP and the Ferry Steps.
The lifeboat is moored permanently at the entrance to Batson Creek and there is a RNLI museum, if you want to check up on the the lifeboat history.
Tahiti was fantastic
First time swimming with a snorkel and seeing the masses of assorted ~stunning rainbow coloured fish
~and the coral ~all just 2-3 feet below in the ~clearest bluey turquoise beautiful calm waters
and all the tropical lush palm trees ~on the quiet sandy beach only a stones throw away

Nice one. My husband was born in Weymouth 50 years ago and has lived here since. we have never wanted to move.
Strangely though, even though we live a 15 minute walk from the main sand beach we always tend to go abroad - mainly, these days, to Turkey. Best place I have been - Florida, a holiday apart that one was.
When me and the OH first got together we spent 10 weeks travelling round the Greek islands. Although some of the more touristy places like Malia, Kavos and Faliraki have given Greece a bit of a bad rep in recent years, once you travel outside of these dumps, the rest of the country is absolutely stunning. Probably the warmest, kindest people I have ever met and the most peaceful, laid back lifestyle in the world
Tuscany was just beautiful and visiting a dozen different islands on a Caribbean cruise, all different was a great experience (with Richard Branson also dropping in on our barbecue). I also love the West Coast of Ireland out of season.
I did that one last year. I flew into Vancouver, then over two weeks drove east to Chilliwack, Kamloops, Kelowna, Clearwater, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff then Calgary, from where I flew home. Beautiful.

Sorry for the boring question, but was the car hire one way drop off fee really high doing this?
I definitely agree about Canada's National parks, I was quite lucky to live near Banf when I lived over there a few years ago!
Been to so many places (I love travel!) however my absolute top would be Barbados - lovely beaches, even lovelier people! I'd love to live out there, and try to go at least once every few years

Dartmouth, Salcombe, Kingsbridge.
The internet is a bit slow at less than than 2 meg down, so it actually took time to do stuff. I get 65 meg down/20 meg up here.

Alberta Canada - simply stunning.
India's Golden Triangle - just a pity about the smog the day we visited the Taj Mahal.
And of course, on my doorstep - the highlands of Scotland.
Cities - London and Barcelona.
So much still to see.
America and Canada really do have some stunning landscapes. I am thinking of maybe doing Banff next year.
