I don't think there's such a thing as ghosts but I don't like reading about them or watching things on TV about them as it freaks me out. Although, my disbelief isn't as strong at night when I hear strange noises. I'm such a wimp!

    Death

    Spiders

    Terminal illness

    Mental illness

My kids being unhappy (not my-wii-remote-isn't-working-unhappy or Mum-won't-give-me-something-from-the-sweetie-cupboard-unhappy - nah, they can suck that sh*t right up - but properly unhappy, like bullying, loneliness. The thought makes me feel a little sick actually).

    Losing control of the car.

I'm scared of my wife going behind my back and shagging another guy. It gets to the point where I have to charge around the house opening doors to my many bedrooms when I get an inkling that something's afoot. I caught her once, in the corridor...

    Hi Matt:D

Rats I once saw one on a bridge and walked 3 more miles to the next bridge to avoid it.

However on 2006 my brother had a brain tumour and was rushed into Addenbrooke's hospital and was put in life support and the doctors told me it was unlikely he would pull through (he did though and is better today) but at that moment in time I didn't think it was humanly possible to be so scared and even the thought of it happening again scares the hell out of me.

As much as I'm scared of rats I'd face a billion of them sooner than face that again.

That's awful, James. Not quite the same but we had a tumour scare with our daughter when she was 4 and it was the only then that I realised that I had never truly experienced real fear. All those times before when I thought I was scared was nothing in comparison. Hope to never feel that again so I completely understand your post. Puts the spider and rat stuff in perspective.
