Yesterday afternoon I listened to the most glorious programme on Classic FM, it was Wynne Evans' Guide to Opera.
What a joy, my only complaint is that I didn't hear him sing, if he did then I must have gone upstairs or elsewhere where I couldn't hear him.
He tried the the One Minute Opera and failed but who cares? He could read out the Cardiff or Carmarthen phone directory and I'd still be spellbound. What a man, what voice and, who cares if he's Gio Compario, forget the "Go Compare" connection if you're a hater, go to YouTube and see for yourselves. The comic Gio is, in reality, an accomplished tenor in his own right.
