    The rats

Surely by saying she knows Kevin would have moved in is putting her on dodgy ground, if the council found out?

Why did that man not care he was just pricked with a needle? And why did he think those gloves would protect him?

£500 or risk long term disease/death. ..I know what I'd choose..He said they were making lots of money. ...
I'm appalled at the state of these so called managed properties

How come Vera is classed as vulnerable? Is it because she is old or something like that..

    I bet she's only 36.....

Oh well that couple didn't gain much then did they? They have to go now as the court ruled against them...

Seriously though the letting agent needs pat on the back for bending over backwards in hleping them and all they did was throw it back in her face.

Yes, but its going through the estate agents.
But it's to enable them to move.

Yes, and then do the agents then get a load of fees paid to them by the new landlord for finding tenants?

I can't believe that guy was pricked by the needle and didn't bother getting himself checked out. They could afford to get the property cleaned / needles disposed of professionally. All to save £500? :o Madness.

Depressing. Some landlords don't care about neighbours either. they just let their houses, take the money and keep well away.

We have a tiny cottage near us which was always owner occupied. A while ago it was sold and a couple bought it to rent out. The woman is just 18 (we saw her birthday balloons arriving) the guy looks about 30. Neither of them work. They have 2 dogs, one of which is huge. They have no garden and the dogs never get taken out.

It is now evident that she's pregnant and a high school aged boy has now moved in to this tiny house. Since they've been there the house has gone from neat and tidy to looking unloved and grubby from the outside. they never open any curtains. What a start in life for a new baby!!

She was trying to find them somewhere to live as they were being evicted for anti-social behaviour, eg threatening people with a baseball bat.

Yes, and she was trying to move them in to one of her (the agents/on the books) properties?

Yeah I know - she's a letting agent specialising in benefit tenants. She's paid to get the places let and to manage them. So she's doing her job for money - like pretty much everyone else.

Yes, but she is not doing it for them, she is not the same as a social worker.

I think the chap at the end summed it up quite succinctly. They'd rather have bad tenants earning them money than the property sitting empty earning nothing, even if it ends up as a shithole. Therefore they couldn't give a rats ass who's in them as long as they are occupied.

Because they are the properties she knows about. Any others and she could do nothing about it. It would be down to the tenants instead. How do you think that would work? She was trying to find them(or at least Vera) somewhere to live.

Yes but I would question her motives for doing so. i.e. a social worker would have different motives.

Not exactly a great advert for his agency though..

Then again, if you buy a house in certain areas with a view to renting it out then perhaps you know what you're letting yourself (and the property) in for and don't mind so long as you get the cash.

Yes and they don't care if they are housed next to hard working families trying to make a living.

Should her motives instead be that they end up homeless on the street?

Who said she was? Social worker is not the only job (and by the way - they do it for money as well)!

She probaly does give a bit of a toss as there must be easier jobs than dealing with people like that all day every day. I have a few people like that to deal with but I would no way pick a job where that was the entire client base.

Yet another reason why buy to let sucks. As someone who has been stuck renting for 20 years I wouldn't let anyone buy a second home as long as there are people who need to buy a first one.
So where should those tenants be living if not in buy-to-let properties?

lol please trust me as I posted earlier its not only Benefit Tenants can be a problem.
They (the doctors) had let the dogs pee everywhere in the house. the carpets were so soaked with urine the floorboards had changed colour there were maggots all in the underlay (and between the floorboard and the ceiling)

they ruined two brand new Gas fires, totally wrecked a porch out the back. and a brand new kitchen, The hygiene level for doctors was bloody disgusting

100% my dad's fault he assumed the jobs they would be no issues, We went to visit some friends in Weymouth who used to own hotels/holiday homes there and he had the same problem said doctors and Solicitors some of the worst people you can have.
