As a non-smoker I am turning to you DS's for help with this one!
My dad has smoked for over 50 years and is slowly coming round to the thought of E-cigs.
I would like to buy him a starter kit - but as a non smoker have no idea where to start and what to buy!
Any suggestions on what's a good starter kit - dad smokes Stirling menthols, so I would like to something similar so he finds the transition easier. (yes it would be better if he gave up, but that's a different battle that I have fought on many occasions and lost).
Thanks for any help

Thanks - as a non smoker have no idea if menthol cigs require a diff type - hence the specific question
Right off to research!
No, menthol doesn't require a different type.
An excellent starter kit would be this:
http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/tornado-ego-c/kits/tornado-ego-c-e-nic-full-kit-black-2-product.html
There are sales on that site every month, so if you check regularly you'll be able to pick it up for cheaper than the listed price. They're generally held within the first week of the month.
As far as menthol goes, this juice is excellent:
http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/e-liquid/premixed-e-liquid/patriot-range/10ml-patriot-range-e-liquid-2-product.html
From the drop down box, select Menthol XXX (the other menthol listed is a bit weak). I would buy the 30mg strength for him to begin with and get off the cigs.
The kit will give you everything you need in one box.
You can find the Ego-C on other sites but it's important you get a genuine one and not a copy if you do decide to shop around.
I agree. Excellent starter kit. I've not smoked since buying mine over 2 years ago.
Also, if you check out totally wickeds twitter, he posts daily codes for money off.
I'd highly recommend this kit from these vendors. http://www.justvape247.com/imotion-mini-double-kits-872-p.asp
Their eliquid is about half the price of totally wicked too. I started off using TW but stopped after a while because of the prices.
Am hoping dad takes to it, if not will try and see if I can get big brother interested in it instead.
Thanks for bearing with me, all the links and suggestions and my general uselessness in this respect.
<sharp intake of breath> Oh, no, I used to have a VIP. They're OK but not all that brilliant. I think I was one of the only people to recommend them on here but that changed a good while ago. JACVapour are much better:

(even on there, VIP are quite a way down the list...)
Its clearly a very personal thing (after all the varying brands of cigs means that they are also on a personal preference), but I am not going to get too disheartened and am hoping dad takes to it, or at least it makes him think I like this enough to try and find the one for me!
I'm sorry OP, but I have to agree with these posters.
My OH bought the VIP and gave up on them after a day or so - they were useless. Very expensive , constantly recharging the cigs - it was a complete disaster.
He then switched to one of the refillable ones ( the ones where you buy the liquid and top up ) and has never looked back - he's completely evangelical about them and has persuaded a couple of friends to use them now. He hasn't smoked since and his health has improved massively.
I was worried that the bad experience he had with the VIP would put him of ecigs, but luckily it hasn't.
I would try and return the VIP if I were you - a lifelong smoker like your dad will probably not take to that style/brand.
