When I was a child good Friday meant my farther would go to the chip shop for fish and chips or whatever. Will you and your family be doing the same?

No, but if you are going I'll have a cone of chips and a cod please
It;s a bit of a competition between my husband and son as to who will be the busiest.
They have lots of different fish in on a Good Friday ...........it's a busy but 'nice' day.
Sounds like that would be a cool movie or documentary.
"Good Fry Day"
I know, I amaze myself sometimes.
You're too late - it's already been done - as I said it's a busy day 'The Long Good Friday';-)
You can put the chips in the over or fry them, they taste much better deep fried.
Or even better I have potatoes I can cut up big and chunky ( proper chips how I like them) and deep fry them.
Yum.
Surely not the fish and chip shop.
Maybe it's not a London thing?
Probably just me that didn't know :kitty:
Whaaaaaaaaat?? Where in London do you live? I'm originally from London and the fish and chip shops were queued down the street on Good Friday ..............mind you I'm going back a good few years.
Yes. Especially small businesses.
Do you live in the UK? If so .....where?
Where on earth in the UK would a Fish and Chip shop close on Good Friday? It's traditionally the busiest day of the year.
Me neither, or that someone would spell Father with two Rs ;-)
I like the idea of fish and chips right now though
Me too but I had fish and chips yesterday
Yuch!
Besides, why should I travel 8 miles to the nearest chip shop anyway? The chips would be stone cold by the time I got them home.
No thanks, I'll settle for gammon steak, salad, and a couple of small boiled potatoes and stay healthy!
What an apt username.
Ha ha yes,
A scot eating healthily ...new one on me
I don't know anyone who smothers their Fish and Chips in brown sauce, yuck indeed! I usually put Tomato Ketchup on mine or a curry sauce.
