It's now actually illegal to end a big TV event in the UK without Emile Sande singing on it. When Harry gets married she'll be singing his bride down the aisle.

If she has taken over from Macca in that role then it can only be a good thing.

It's quite simple. Teenage girls fancy them and think they have a chance of getting together with them.

The thing is, other major boy bands that I can think of, while their music wasn't my thing, I could see that they put on a good show, danced well, harmonised. I just....... Urghh.... It's too depressing.

Popular music has been 'Cowell-ised'. It's our own fault for falling for his crap (not that I did, I'm too old! ;):D)

    Emeli Sandé ‏@neurosceptic

One Direction won an award for their "global appeal"?. Like giving Piers Morgan a Pulitzer for vocalising BS in different timezones.

It'll be interesting to see the viewing figures. IIRC last year was a bit higher than the previous year, but I doubt it'll be too high this time

Jesus Christ. The BRITs needs to be cancelled if this is its future. Hand it to Channel 5, or even Dave ITV!

Just hand it to the man in the black cloak carrying a sickle

Music is dead ! Skyfall by Adele...she really sounds awful on that recording. Maybe her throat wasn't too good when she made it

The "Outstanding Achievement" award has been "rested" again this year.

No, Adele and Mumford and Sons were also nominated.

Surely Adele has had more success? especially winning Grammys.

It was based on world wide record sales, and they sold more records (Singles + Albums) last year than Adele and Mumford.

This has been challenging, hopefully the afore mentioned channel gives them an outlet. As cool as Gary Davies. the end

Did I miss something, what happened to the Lifetime Achievement Award? That was probably explained. Was it nixed because of the Adele debacle last year?

And weren't The Rolling Stones supposed to be performing as well???
