I got a text this morning to test the beta.

Looks like it's for Android at the moment.

I barely get 1 bar signal at home
Looks a good app
Hope it will be made available for all soon as many have been looking forward to this.
Hi
I was going to fone Three and ask if I could be added to the trail, until I read on here that it was only availible for Android users. Whats up with allowing iOS users to trial the App?
Thanks
Baz
I'm sure it'll be out on iOS shortly, maybe it's more complex? It looks amazing though, I wonder how incoming calls will work when the app isn't open.
Hi
Probably the same way Viber works.
Baz
Ha, they lied, it's not on the Play store
Perhaps it will be added later today with a link on the 3 website.
It's BETA and invite only until August.
Correct.
It even says beta on the site.
On how to get it, website says:
If you have poor coverage (I do)
You’ll need to call us to discuss your coverage experience if you want to be able to try it out. If you’re eligible to get our beta version of Three inTouch, we’ll send you a text with a link to download it. You need to be registered for Three inTouch on our systems for the app to work, so the download we send you to get won’t work for other people.
So I called to see if I could get the sms link, was told I could download the app already from the Play store. I was surprised, but not too unexpected to find out it is not the case.
Call them back and explain your previous enquiry and the advice given on 333 and ask them to add you to the trial. If you don't ask you won't get! ;-)
Presumably so,
Virgin Media have a similar app (SmartCall I think) that lets you connect to wifi (doesn't matter where) and use the app to make calls out of whatever landline package you have with them.
So if you have a package that includes all calls (inc mobiles), it could be a useful thing.
If like me, you have a v basic phone line with free weekend calls, then it wouldn't be that much use!
Possibly but as it's connected to your mobile number and uses that charging and allowance package roaming might apply. You would need to read the T+Cs carefully!
The website just says use it whenever you're on wifi.
I can't see how 3 would care whose wifi you're on.

You can’t use Three inTouch in the UK to call international or premium rate numbers. You also can’t use Three inTouch anywhere other than the UK. If you do need to call international or premium rate numbers, you’ll need to turn off Wi-Fi and make that call over our network, like normal.
Been on phone now for about 20 mins to try and get it
Make sure you select the coverage issues option, that team know all about the App and will then ask questions and check the mast for issues first. It sounds like it's just an alternative to giving out Signal boxes as the process is the same.
Hi
So we could be looking at a September/October launch??
Thanks
Baz
They would care as they would lose out on roaming revenue. They're not losing any revenue when you're in the UK as it still eats into your allowance.
Got told to go into. 3 store and they would download for me......ummm
Then after more questions got told I should login to the 3 site and the info would be there .....
