Petrol stations

in Non-platform specific satellite TV #1
I have been noticing some petrol stations have satellite dishes and they do not point at 28.2/5 degrees, the size is larger than the average 60cm (?) size so i guess it is non uk tx being recived, finally there is no audio or visually services within the station so what could the puropses of these dishes be?

    Yes, National Lottery.

    Some of them will be for electronic transfer of funds, probably via something like Eutel W1 10E

    Most of the new ones are for the new National Lottery terminal though.

    Can't even begin to add up the cost-as this sort of kit would be at least £1000 per site.

    Some are lotto some are radio some are for the till / computer system and some are for cash points all use VPN over VSAT,

    How do i know i install such systems

    I've always been curious about these satellite dishes. I never really understood why they had them as there's no sign of TVs anywhere in the petrol stations. Anyone know? Is it to do with internet or phone connections? It has baffled me for years. :confused:
