Tiger Bread

Discovered this a few months ago and absolutely love it. I've had bacon sandwiches with it and going to make a ham salad sandwich soon.

Anyone know anything else that goes well in a sandwich with it or compliments a dish?

It's just white bread. Anything that goes on a sandwich will go on Tiger bread.

The bread gets it's name from the distinctive patterning on the top. This is done by painting the bread with rice paste and sesame oil prior to baking, which gives the bread it's lovely taste, crustiness and smell. Asda make delicious tiger bread rolls - lovely sandwiches they make.

Yeah, I really like the Sainsbury's giraffe bread. It has a slightly more savoury flavour than normal white bread.

I find tiger bread to be hit and miss. Gorgeous one time but the next it'll have a metallic-type taste. And yes anything you'd like in a regular sandwich would go well with tiger bread, it's also nice with soup.

I would say anything savoury but not sweet.

I agree. I had some with jam once, and it wasn't quite right.

My local Sainsburys just can't bake tiger bread.

It always tastes too yeasty and like bleach so I've stopped buying.

    It's vile. .

We sell loads of tiger bread at work(Morrisons) it always smells nice, coming through the checkout, although I wouldn't eat it myself.

I think it is really cruel that tiger is being added as an ingredient for bread. There's not many of them left in the wild.

A plague upon all your houses.

Still it is better than tiger butter, I suppose.

    I don't buy it.
I work on the checkouts in Morrisons and it always comes through greasy, I have to wipe my hands. Like I said we sell alot, so it doesn't seem to put people off buying it.

My daughter loves this ( she's 27 btw). Gosh, I loathe it - it seems so false & unhealthy.
