Does anyone else think the online rating is bad following the update? It seems to be harder than ever to gain points.
Yes! I've noticed this too as has one of my friends!
Unless I'm in a room with people with 9000+ VR (I'm at 6000 currently), I won't gain any points unless I come 3rd or above.

WiiWheel is my preferred control method and have no problems winning races online ;-) .

My WiiU will be arriving later today, although I bought it for my young son, I cant wait to play it myself. I'm actually pretty good at Mario Kart so I'll look forward to racing online.
I take it I can just plug in the wii sensor for the wheel and remotes just like on the original Wii?

I didn't have time to race online as the systems update took awhile to install but I'll be racing over the weekend. My name is Bigmanandre and hopefully i'll race you all sometime soon!

One of the tracks in November's DLC will be Yoshi Circuit from the Gamecube (and also a retro track on the DS).
It wouldn't have been my first choice to remake, especially since it has already been remade once before, but it was always a decent track and it's looking better than ever now that it's going to be in MK8.
Unfortunately, I'm at Uni without a Wii U until December so I'll have to make do with simply watching videos of the new features until I get home.

Ive just preordered the DLC & bought a steering wheel / joypad cause they weren't included in the MK8 WiiU bundle ... So I'm now ready ta play!

I hope May's DLC for Mario Kart 8 is as good as the one were getting tomorrow. From Youtube clips that I've seen, it is good. Very good!
