I asked Chris Barrie about this at a Comic Con meet and greet just before Xmas and he said "everything is getting there" . By the way he said it I read this as meaning that the scripts are ready but the contracts for all 3 main actors have yet to be signed.

Which of the 4 does he not consider a main actor i wonder
Unless he meant the other 3 need their contracts sorted of course
I really hope it all goes ahead (I can't see why it wouldn't). Personally I've always thought that it's poor show from the Beeb that Red Dwarf isn't actually on the BBC any more. I know they have shares in the whole UKTV network, but honestly I never understood why it couldn't just come back to BBC2 in the first place.
I think the final episode should be one where the very old Lister with the long grey dreadlocks projects himself back in time in his bunk to speak to his younger self.
As the entire population of the world obsesses over the birth of a baby in London, 3 million light years away in a substantial space vessel belonging to the Jupiter Mining Corporation 4 hopeless smegheads prepare for more adventures.
Red Dwarf Series XI and XII
Recording starts late October 2015.
12 new episodes.
Broadcast on Dave in the UK in 2016, elsewhere in the world a little later.
Shed loads of Smeg Ups
Original cast (they couldn't get anyone decent to do it)
Original writer (Doug-Chief of Comedy Police-Naylor)
About 18 kilos of rubber, 12 H's, a lot of hair extensions, sequins, Vindaloo and a new smeg hammer.
I'm sorry but I didn't like the last series of this that was on Dave a few years ago. It was a bit hit or a miss for me and nothing like it's glory day's. I kind of feel they should let a good thing die. Craig Charles is leaving Corrie in the Autumn to concentrate on Red dwarf. For me he should stay with Corrie as I think he is great in that. It's a sign of the times that nothing new gets made now just re hashes of once great shows or shows still being made like X factor that should have ended a few years ago -

Maybe that bit was merely the poster's interpretation of what Chris Barrie said

Smegging Brilliant news!!!
Are they filming 12 episodes all together, or 6 at a time?
Has anybody figured out the respective influences of the two on the scripts?
