Spam Spam Spam ! B T Broadband
I've never really needed to use my spam filter and I found it easier to leave it off.
I got the usual willy-extension, you can share in my diamond fortune in return for your bank account number and sort code type spam, but it was never an issue and reading the emails were often more entertaining that annoying. Also if something wasn't really spam, it was never overlooked and having had BT broadband since about 2007 it's never been a problem......until now! Over the last few weeks I have been hammered to death by the stuff with everything from PPI claims (I'm doing it myself and am not going to give some shark in a suit 30% of any PPI refund thank you very much) to "we can get your debts written off" (I don't have any and again if I did I would sort it myself and not pay some con-artist to put my salary and bills into an excel spreadsheet and charge for doing so). All of the emails have links for opting out (like I'm going to risk clicking those!) and many seem to come from miraclehits.net and mention an address on Murrell Road in Florida ! I've no idea how to stop these things other than maybe changing my email address ? I'd also love to find out where they got my email address from. I've been getting at least 4 or 5 an hour, every day, day and night. |

Login to BT Yahoo Mail and just highlight all the crap as spam using the @Sheild and then hopefully any further emails will go straight into the spam folder.

Either you signed into a bad site or your address was sold, did you sign up to anything recently ? Edit: I read about a games site that got hacked recently and email addresses stolen also some other company had a similar problem further back .... so there is another possibility and probably more. |

Using gmail I find I hardly see any spam, the ones that do get through are usually of UK origin, if I had the time I would pursue them - £1000 per time I understand

I have been getting exactly the same as the OP. It is PPI claims and other stuff to do with Insurance and even had one to see if wanted a Penis enlargement.
I have been in touch with BT about the spam e-mails and they didn't even know that this was happening. Just so glad that I don't see those e-mails now as I have just set up my Outlook to delete spam e-mails. If there is anything I miss it is still on the server at BT Yahoo. |

BT yahoo is doing odd things. It went through a month of stopping a lot more legit emails than usual - often from senders that it let through with other messages. In the last week or so its started sending what should come through through again and even sending somethings which I haven't retrained it to let through by moving them to inbox. And there's been virtually no spam arriving in the spam folder. Looks like they are changing their spam guard systems?
