has anybody been successful in getting pictures from phone to apprear on sky box without the sky app on the phone crashing, I've got a HTC One M7 with Android 4.4.3 with Sence 6, if thats any use to developers it crashes as soon as I attempt to send any size image to the box, i even changed sizes of the images to check to see if that was the problem but it made no difference and was woundering if anybody else has this issue

It doesn't always seem fluid for me on iOS either, the app doesn't crash, but it is sometimes very slow at loading the picture on the TV, or it doesn't load at all.

I got R010.070.83.00P on my Pace box last week so finally the EPG is the same as my DRX890 now.

Works fine on Galaxy S5. Wife was very surprised to see our wedding photo on TV.

So I wonder whether it is likely that we might see the upgrade on some Samsung boxes tonight.

Shame you showed her, think of the fun you could have had if there was a show on she watches, where they flash a picture up on screen, get the timing right......

it looks like the DRX780 has started get R010 now.
but three parts of the update are missing for this box
they are photo viewing / HDMI Control / Smart Series Link
plus improvements to AdSmart are not supported on this box.

so it looks like jest us Samsung box holders to go.

Targeted ads are downloaded in the background onto Sky's section of your hard drive.
These are then seamlessly inserted into breaks, replacing the original live transmitted ads when you watch live TV or watch recordings.
As long as the system is working properly, there is no way of telling which ads have been replaced.

Any ideas why Smart Series Link isn't available?

I can understand if the other features require new hardware or are very demanding of resources, but I can't imagine that anything to do with Series Link would fit those categories.

I've asked the question before, the Specialists wouldn't say.

Interestingly the DRX780 is the only HD box to be little endian, the rest are big endian so you never know it could be related to that perhaps.

I noticed last night that the Pace boxes have had buy and keep added with R10, not something I am interested in, that's why I hadn't noticed earlier.

Only live viewing gets Adsmart. Recordings get the regular ads.

Also, it doesn't currently work during a live broadcast.

Passes us by, as the only live viewing we do is news and sport.

That information is out of date.
With the latest software AdSmart replacements can now appear when watching recordings.
Not sure about during live transmissions, but if they can't be scheduled during them AdSmart slots wouldn't be offered to the advertisers during those programmes anyway.

That photo thing is great. Didn't have a clue that it was available until I read it here five minutes ago.

Worked really well using my Nexus 4

Just did a three way test with Sky Atlantic. Watched live on TV and Sky Go and recorded.

On Sky Go the first ad was for Argos, on the TV I got an Idris Elba box sets promo, the rest of the break was the same. Played back the recording and got the Argos ad.

Strange that AdSmart would replace a paid for commercial with a promo.

The box sets advert isn't actually a promo, it is still a paid for advert.

I wonder how the advertiser who is paying for the on air ad will react, when he finds out his ad is being replaced with another to some viewers, seems they are getting ripped off.

This new smarter Series Link seems too smart for it's own good as it's now the second time that it's started to record repeats.

Although both times it's been on one of the Channel 4 channels so it may be their fault.

series link data is provided by the channels themselves as part of the full EPG data they supply to Sky. if the channels get it wrong (and they often do) then the box will simply do as the EPG instructs it to do.
