Oh my God has that woman no shame, how did she dare go out of her front door looking like that.

I wonder if when Richard Simpson had ambitions to become a 'journalist' he realised that he would end up writing cack like that? He must be so proud. How many faces has he got I wonder?

As Twiggy herself is quoted in the article 'Of course, there are days when I think: "Oh my gawd, I look a bit tired". But I can pull it together if I have to.'

So she is a normal woman, like the rest of us.

Keeley Hawes is roughly half Twiggy's age, but I bet she doesn't look in real life like she does in the Boots No 7 ads.

As was said ^, every ad is airbrushed.

    Bloody hell, it's a disgrace!

I'm glad that at least the Daily Heil never uses airbrushed pictures or pictures of women who are wearing make up!

I hate the Mail.Hard to believe it is most visited news site, and 2nd highest selling rag in UK.
    Why ?

But I also loathe advertisers and photographers who give such misleading images to public making a million females super neurotic over their own less than glamorous looks and charging off for all those unnecessary "beauty" procedures oblivious that these famous people look just as middle aged as they do in real life.Such a con.

Did any of you actually read the article? It is not slating Twiggy's looks, it even says she looks good for her age. The point of the article is to highlight the deceptive methods Olay use in their advertising.

    Daily Mail - 1 Bandwagon-jumping idiots - nil.

In the end, I think most women know in their heart of hearts there is no 'miracle cream' for keeping age at bay.

We just live in hope that these things will work even if they don't. Advertisers have to market a product, but if we're daft enough to believe all these ads aren't full of airbrushing and the miracle of Photoshop, we're kidding ourselves.

Twiggy looks fine for a lady of 59.

    Oh, get over yourself.

The DM is well known for having a go at female celebs they feel are too fat/wrinkly/old. They do it nearly every day.

But, in this article, they did not. A big fail from you.

With slight jowls and only hairline wrinkles around her eyes and mouth

Damning with faint praise if ever I heard it. :p

With slight jowls and only hairline wrinkles around her eyes and mouth, Twiggy does indeed look good for her age
You missed a bit. Is it really so hard to admit you got this one wrong?

I really should stop clicking on Daily Mail links - I always feel slightly grubby when I do, like I need to wash my hands.

    No, I didn't.
It's called 'damning with faint praise'.

If I were a celebrity I'd do my best to keep my face away from the Daily Mail. It gives journalism a bad name.

It's actually called "telling it like it is". She is 59, but looks relatively good for her age, the article is honest, yet complimentary. The whole point of the feature is "she looks good, but Olay want to cheat to make her even better", with no attack on Twiggy at any point. You're clutching at straws because of some pea-brained grudge against a newspaper.

When the DM publishes stuff like this, female celebs are only safe when walking round in a burqua.

    ;)

No, that's the Daily/Sunday Express, owned by Richard Desmond of Asian Babes fame.

I think he's sold the porn side of the business now though.

You missed a trick there. Should've just said "yes, it is part of a porn empire too!" since you're happy to slate the paper even when it is not guilty of something.

The Daily Fail is a rag. It appeals to the worst in white, middle class, NIMBYs who still think every "darkie" is a bogus asylum seeker with a knife who'll break in to their house in the middle of the night, steal their credit cards and rape their dog.

It's a pitiful excuse for a newspaper that shows titilating pictures as if it was a 12 year old boy snickering behind his hand, only to lecture and sniffily proclaim the downfall of society.

Absolutely agree with this post. It's the unrealistic airbrushing that really annoys me. Everyone gets older, why cant they show beautiful ageing women with a few wrinkles. It's not like it's a crime to get old.
