By "dogging sites" I take it the person means real life places and not websites? That's up to the police. As far as I know it's still a public decency offence.

Ah yes, quite possibly they did mean that. It never occurred to me because the subject here is web sites, I just assumed that's what they were referring to.

I think you're correct, it is a public decency offence.

But what you do in your bedroom alone or with consenting adults isn't anyone's business.

Agree. As long as it's between consenting adults, the state has absolutely no business prying and dictating.

Gambling sites will also be blocked.

Cameron's aide is on Sky and said so.

    lol

Its basically a block on all over 18s material.

    That's the thing isn't it.

See how far we've come already?

It's only been two minutes and we're already onto banning gambling sites!!

What on earth has gambling got to do with the initial stated aim?!

When I was a child, I'd say pornography was a pretty major thing in my life. I'm sure it is for the majority of of 12-18 year olds. It may sound stupid, but although I knew there was something off about me and it wasn't until I was around 11/12 that I started to look for pornography that I actually understood what was different about me to other guys and it helped me accept who I was - don't get me wrong, it's not like I was looking at porn and thinking "this is just so inspirational!" or anything like that, haha. But it did help me both understand and accept my sexuality.

What I find odd about this situation is that he is meeting with murdered children's parents to discuss it. I didn't realise watching pornography as a child led you to becoming a child killer or a paedophile?

They should be focusing on clamping down on paedophile rings and actually protecting children from predators, not rubbish like this

they have managed to muddle a whole lot of issues together here. it's very cynical. underhanded.

How so? geordiejackie suggested that being opposed to anal sex means that someone has morals.

where did I say it was immoral between two consenting adults.

With tobacco and many alcohol advertisements banned, it seems betting companies is really helping the sale of ads.. This will surely hurt a lot of online businesses.

If they really want to ban stuff, can I suggest they start with adverts by "no win no fee" law firms and payday loan companies.

These parasites are a LOT more damaging to society than mainstream, legal, adult porn in my view.

All politicians like to be seen to be doing something and it should appeal to those who make it their job to mind other peoples' business.

Whether it will work or not is another matter.

Good lord you are a prude.

surveys suggest 30-50% of women have tried it. i've certainly met plenty.
Not a prude just someone with morals

The cant do that, Beecroft is a policy adviser, and a senior shareholder in wonga.

Plus, lots of MPs are lawyers, they dont eat their own.

Quite. An utterly cynical attempt to get the public onside with the whole 'pornography makes people kill kids' spiel.

So if it's not immoral between two consenting adults, why do you agree with geordiejackie's position that it is?

I agree with you and brb, there's too much grouping of completely different things under the same banner instead of concentrating on something that is already illegal.

So I guess the national lottery site will be blocked.

I can see people on benefits being forced to use this filter somewhere down the line, especially if we get a majority Tory government next term.

You'd think that many parents would be happy if the Tory website was blocked.

The Labour site would never be blocked, of course, as it's full of fairy stories designed for someone with the intelligence of a child.
