I love how Unity is borrowing from the best: You can now stack up missions and not necessarily start them right away a la Skyrim plus there are lots of difference kill upgrades in a way that's very Skyrim. Then there are the heists which is obviously GTA 5 inspired. In fact, even the whole co-op thing is trying to copy GTA5 in terms of the different players with different skills.
I love Arno's outfit from the back the more and more I see it. SO assassiny.... and I love how his brotherhood of Assassins are being *gasp* Assassins. Holding meetings, referring older Assassins, introducing Assassin weapons... And *sniffle* the return of glyphs. Assassin's Creed is back.
ooh, I love how in the first video Arno just runs up to the guard and snaps his neck It does look stunning, and I'm very happy to see just how open the world is - there seem to be a lot of open houses that you can just walk through (or climb through the window of!).
I hope to god they keep away from the crappy Animus stuff, though... plleeaaasseeee.

It does look amazing, the more I see the better it looks perhaps a return to the form of the AC2/brotherhood days, I'll be getting it as soon as a pre owned version is available
We understand how Senior Producer Vincent Pontbriand's quotes have been misinterpreted. To set the record straight, we did not lower the specs for Assassin's Creed Unity to account for any one system over the other.
Ubisoft's statements seems fair enough, they've been developing the game for 4 years, probably longer than they have had with the finished PS4 and X1 consoles so they made a game and just got it running the same on both, doesn't really explain why they made Black Flag better on PS4 though if the goal on the next instalment would be to leave them the same and not even attempt to make one better
Funny how people had actually started to care about games over resolution and ubisoft go and do this

I agree with this. Iv'e noticed that a majortiy of gaming sites seemed to be posting about actual games and gameplay rather than the constant Company 1 vs Company 2 articles we seemed to see constantly.
As a guy who does his gaming primarily on the Xbox one it doesn't bother me at all if the resolution is higher on the ps4 or if there are a few 'jaggies' more on Microsofts console. Iv'e always thought the differences were so minimal that it does't effect the atmosphere or gameplay of a game at all. Saying this, holding one version of the game back on purpose to match the other seems like a strange decision.

They did the same thing with Watchdogs. Lowered the quality of the PC version in order to match the inferior graphics of the next gen consoles. That's why I don't bother with this resolution nonsense. It's a computer generated game and it's not going to look like real life. I'll save myself the head ache and focus on the gameplay and the story, thanks.

Did they specifically lower the quality or just make no effort to improve it? I can understand making no effort to improve it - as it takes man hours to do that, which would be spent else where. But I cannot understand why any company would specifically lower the quality on purpose
I hope it doesn't have stupid lockpicking. I'm playing AC3 and the lockpicking is awful. I dunno if it's my controller or what but when I have to press RT the lock resets.

The lock picking could be annoying.
You have to hold both sticks in place while you're frantically pressing the triggers so it's easy to get a bit over enthusiastic and end up moving the sticks slightly which resets it.
...does Unity carry on the 'pirate' theme from Blackflag?
I even hated the 'sailing' parts in AC3 and for that reason, didn't play Black Flag at all - taking the AC story down the 'pirate' road, was a BIG turn off for me (I won't be buying AC:Rogue for this very reason) so if Ubity is also like this, its bye bye to the AC saga........

Pirates in Revolution Era Paris? Interesting concept.

It's set in Paris during the French Revolution.
There's always the chance of there being a few ship levels included but it seems this is going to be very similar to Brotherhood where you get one huge city to move around in.

Holding the thumbsticks in position is giving my hands cramps. Getting old *grumble grumble*

From everything I've read, the wettest you'll get is escaping from the guards in the river Seine.
Yeah, I think it's the end of naval combat and navigation from Unity onwards. Those who still need their naval fix have Rogue. Plus I think they took it is as far as they could in Black Flag.

AC IV Black Flag was awesome!
It was the first AC game I had played since the original, as that one had put me off the franchise.
Loved it!

Sounds like good news as I was thinking of getting the Xbox One around then and can pick it up with Unity. Also has Black Flag in the pack too.
Cost Microsoft a fortune though!

Yes. I'm getting the same feelings of hype that I got for AC3. Hopefully it won't be the disappointment that game ended up being.
