Both are among the acts rejected for this week's BBC Radio 1 playlist.
Due to more important releases. One direction are added granted for charity but fans have been waiting along time for new Hurt's music. Weird. This station is slowly losing me.

Being on the playlist just means it's get played more often, DJs are free to play non-playlist music.
Robbie Williams' Candy wasn't playlisted to begin with, DJs still played it. Even Nick Grimshaw, who apparently said Robbie Williams was irrelevant to Radio 1's audience (though it sounded to me like anti-BBC tabloid fabrication), played it.
Capital Radio is for people who have brains that have turned to mush / post-brain dead
[not a Hurts or Nicole Scherzinger fan BTW ]
Boomerang is a decent song and Nicole has become very popular in the UK, I hope the song does well anyway without Radio 1 support.
But Radio 1 are pricks for tweeting about it.
Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but I don't get the impression the songs are never going to be added - it just appears they're not adding them this week due to other additions to the playlist...
Nicole's song isn't out for ages so perhaps other songs with closer release dates are seen as more 'important'
Thats what I read from it too. It isn't out for ages so why would they playlist it now? And for what its worth I've heard it on Radio 1 a few times anyway.
It's no wonder Hurts are huge in Europe - they probably get radio support. Whereas over here they'd rather promote bands like One Direction who couldn't even write a nursery rhyme without help. It's no wonder bands like Hurts don't get the credit and UK chart success they deserve so much.
I don't know why rubbishy acts like One Dimension are considered "more important" than Nicole Scherzinger or Hurts. 1D are rubbish, just a bunch of pretty boys who can't really sing. And their Comic Relief single is just as crap as everything else they've released. Absolute disgrace. Anyone who wants to hear music other than tripe like 1D should boycott the likes of Capital and Radio 1.
That's because despite being huge in Europe and a British band, the radio stations here decided they weren't relevant. They're very big in Russia, Estonia, Germany etc. Their first album Happiness did well, but the stations simply don't play them here.
Try listening to the fab song Stay - one of the most beautiful love songs I've ever heard. Or Devotion which is a duet with Kylie. Or their song Wonderful Life which did fairly well here.
Little wonder the brilliant BBC Radio 6 Music breakfast DJ Shaun Keaveny plays his monkeys/chimpanzee noise jingle whenever he talks about them, frequently mocking their selections.
Still he & his Radio 2 equivalent Chris Evans have them to thank for driving former Radio 1 listeners to other stations including their own.
That's because Radio 1 don't play them! Their album got to #4 in the UK and they were on Jonathan Ross last weekend. That said, the new single is a let down which didn't help it's cause with the chimps at Radio 1 (who prefer boy bands now they've been ordered by the government to aim the station at 14 year old girls).
Take a look here, this is at one of Germany's biggest festivals, Rock Am Ring, they weren't the headliners of course, but an appreciative crowd nonetheless.
Better Than Love
I can't comment on the Hurts song because I haven't heard it.
 So what are they going to play instead? More crap?
