And for comparison, the price of the dvd in the UK has not changed as far as I can see - £9.25 (and £11.25 for the blu-ray).
That's just over $15 at current exchange rates. So $7.41 is a good deal (and close to the price that I would expect in the State).
So it was probably a simple pricing mistake.
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! THEY MUST BE SMITED FROM THIS EARRRRTH!!!
Ta
Unbelievable price when I brought one of the Troughton ones for £47.00 in June
They are totally ruthless in some respects though. I ordered a game from there with a pre-order guarantee and they shipped it only for it not to arrive on the first day. I went back to the item, only to find it had dropped by £5 after the game was sent, so it didn't violate there own guarantee. I wouldn't have found out had they not been late!
That Extra isn't on, but The Last Day, The Night of The Doctor, Behind the Lens, two trailers and a documentary explaining the series for those who haven't previously seen Doctor Who are all present and correct.
My copy arrived from the BBC Shop today. Amazon for me is somewhere Jo Jones née Grant explored, not a place for sourcing BBC DVDs.
Ah yes, I know about that practice. Its professional sellers who whack up as big a price as they think they can get away with in the hope that there is someone stupid enough to pay it.
They won't even have the product themselves. What will happen is if someone buys it, they will buy a copy from elsewhere (at a regular price) and ship that off.
I've got some info on this practice somewhere online. I'll have to see if I can dig it out myself sometime.
