I'm always amazed by the way Selina Griffiths has exactly the same accent and intonation as her mother Annette Crosbie

General start was way better than last week. More warmth and humour.

Now we have the mystery of the winning lottery numbers

But he had to pick up Mr. Ipswich to take him to the doctors?

I love Jonathan Creek dearly, but I prefer the old format.

See the mystery, JC + foil stumble across it, JC spots something that nags him, JC's foil hasn't twigged yet, JC and foil reveal all at the end.

This story is less interesting than last week's one, which wasn't up to the usual standard. Wonder why David Renwick has played around with the formula this time.

'Will Win' in the marriage book - so it's a date?

It's better paced than last week, which is a start.

Definitely an improvement on last week-thank heavens (although it would be hard to be worse!), but still not as good as 'back in the day'!

Tonight was too slow starting; normally the mystery kicked off the episode and went from there. The mystery itself is interesting enough, though.

Regardless of whether there are issues with Caroline coming back or not, I really miss the Adam Klaus subplot stories.

I agree with what you say Belligerence, that it is better paced than last week

I'm still not enjoying this :(

Never going to be sadly -- the last few specials were poor and should've acted as a sign of things to come.

Still, at least this week there's a mystery.
