Do over 50's like to go out these days say to clubs offering entertainment to that age group, social clubs, working mans clubs etc, the clubs of yesterday with the well know acts and chicken in the basket meal seem to have disapeared so is there a need for entertainment for the over 50's.

Maybe 20 years ago they were old. Nowadays 50 year olds are like 40 year olds.
Phew
LOL...trust me, I aint far off it myself!
You forgot to mention soup in a basket as well :D
Not saying they are old talking about what entertainment they like, i mean 50 plus people would look out of place in a youngsters night club and doubt if they could stand the noise.
Your views of entertainment for over 50s are very outdated. My other half who is well over 50 is currently playing 'Skyrim' on the playstation. Is he too old to be doing this?
We do pretty much the same things as we've always done, with the exception of going clubbing as it doesn't appeal anymore.
It's not a pretty sight.
And comfy slippers, and sucking on a Werthers Original because our dentures won't let us crunch them
My mum (in her mid 60s) is very into on-line gaming and things like Facebook, but my dad (about the same age as her) seems to think that computers are too hard for him to understand. My mother is also still interested in new musicians, TV shows and trying new foods, whereas my dad thinks that Rod Stewart was the best ever, won't try any 'foreign muck' and doesn't think that any TV shows made since the 70s are any good.
It would hardly come as a surprise to anyone to discover they divorced in the 90s and my mum started going out with younger men .
Also, OP, don't forget that people in their 50s were most likely teenagers in the 70s, and used to go out dancing then. And some never stopped !
Over 70 is what I'd call elderly.
actually I do the same things I was doing 20 years ago, unless it looks too embarrassing or pervy, and it has to finish by 10.15 pm
I nearly spat battenburg cake over my George Formby gramaphone records then!
eg The Archers.
Edit: Re The ID Nazis. Lad in Tesco half-asked "You are over 18 of course", the other day.
I said I was nearly 50.
"You look good for your age. My Dad's that age and he looks much older" he said.
battenburg? you trendy so and so! Madeira and mild Horlicks that's the ticket.
