Why do people complain about The X Factor/Strictly clashes?

This is 2014, who watches television in the traditional way anymore?

People who want to watch them both should record The X Factor, watch Strictly live and then watch TXF while putting the adverts on fast forward.

I like both, and yes I get the fast forward through adverts bit too, but I also like to follow and read comments on here or Twitter while I watch, but if you are on here or Twitter you see spoilers about the one you're missing, so you can't win....

Because they want to post in the live threads for both?

I don't have a dvd or video recorder but I do have freeview so I can watch on plus one.

There might be some who just have 5 channels I guess

I just watched x factor on +1, but I did miss following on here too. It's not the same...and hardly worth watching... without the hilarious forum comments :-D

Not everyone has recordable TV and not everyone has enough data to stream videos online.. Plus tonight had a lot of popular programmes between 9 and 12 - X factor, SCD, Gogglebox, Alan Carr, Graham Norton etc
