They've just killed off a very good character played by a fairly good actress. So why would they leave the door open for a return for such a shit pointless character played a truly shit actress?
Big mistake on Blackburn's part to get rid of this actress, she provides eye candy and with Tina gone, Maria just ain't going to take her place (as he thinks) she's older for a start. Yes they have Steph but I don't see the attraction myself, she always looks shocked.
I feel sorry for Georgia. Okay so Katy isn't a great character but the decision to axe her seems harsh because instead of just letting Georgia do her own thing, the press and people at Corrie have been calling her the next Michelle Keegan for years. As lovely and talented as Michelle is, she does chase fame and a lot of the attention she gets (or has at least received in the past) is because of who she is engaged to. It was silly to expect Georgia to follow in her footsteps or even replace Michelle/Tina just because of her looks... and because things aren't happening the way certain people thought they would, they're getting rid of her.
