Sky News: I despare!

So i kid you not, on Sky News's Boulton Factor tonight they spent a good 10 minutes discussing a tweet made by Sarah Brown about the fact she had sat on a marker pen and ruined her favourite dress.

Is this really what passes for news these days? Also it seems with this Boulton Factor that Sky News is dangerously close to creating a show (which while now superficially politically neutral) could at any point turn into the UK version of "The O'Reilley Factor"

I didn't see the programme in question, but the Tory bias on Sky News in the past few weeks has been unberable. I agree that the Boulton Factor is right-wing as well, hopefully it'll never become nearly as bad as O'Reliey's show.

10 minutes? I watched said programme and it got about 1 minute tops.

It was a light-hearted item thrown in towards the end of the paper review and was not part of the actual news bulletin.

Really OTT to be making Fox News comparisons on the back of this.

Murdoch has long wanted to turn Sky News into a version of Fox News and Cameron will allow him to acheive it.

I reckon Sky News must have had their budget cut drastically. They don't actually tell us any news these days.
They have a top story and milk it by interviewing all sorts of irrelevant numpties. But never get beyond that. With frequent advert breaks and every half hour taken over by repetitive football results what exactly is Sky News supposed to be these days?
As for the Sarah Brown "news" shock horror she sat on a marker pen, story, what tosh.

It's no worse than 'The Campaign show' on BBC News which is equally trivial and pointless.

Sky News ceased to be a serious news channel a long time ago.

Wasn't Boulton in with Blair though? He is married to Blair's former advisor Anji Hunter.

And the ash cloud has still done more in a single week to reduce air travel, than the green party has for it's whole existence.

If that's the case he might feel he has to appear more right-wing than he actually is in order to forestall any accusations of pro-Labour bias

I remember Blair getting pretty angry with him in a press conference near the end of his time as PM though.

I think Adam Boulton is as neutral as you get. He says he doesn't even vote to remain totally unbiased.

So what party do you think he's biased towards?

Already on this thread he's been accused of being right-wing and a Labour supporter.

He certainly has! He cut all air travel in and out of the UK for the last few days!
