During our 9-day RSL broadcast, which was aimed at listeners within range of our FM transmitter in Harwich and the surrounding area, we also offered a web stream for the benefit of those who wanted to listen further afield. Unfortunately, the broadcast facilities company who provided our technical facilities provided a streaming element that simply didn't work and we had to hurriedly improvise something on the ship. The FM audio was really lovely (thanks not to the facilities company, but to our breakfast DJ Enda Caldwell who got a pal in Ireland to set up the processor via a web connection) but from around day 3 the web stream was overmodulated and distorted and there was simply nothing we could do about it. Despite that we had 20,000 online listeners, many of whom persisted despite the poor audio. So for them, from today and until the end of September we're repeating the best of the shows as recorded off-air, and therefore properly processed. Details on our website at lv18.org
