but it doesn't seem to be helping that everytime I turn on my PC and of again it connects to wireless network with a different IP address.
Yeah, your router will generally use DHCP to assign IP addresses to new devices as they attach, then free these numbers when they disconnect. Either use the node name of your machine (which never changes) instead of the address, or tell the router to always use the same IP address for the computer (I can tell you how to do this for a Netgear router)
Can anyone tell me what the quality of the playback is like? Does it depend on the avi download?
I use my Samsung DVD player to play DIVX/avi files and it looks really nice. Was considering a Wii anyway and wondered if the quality is compromised using this method?
Also is there a version like this for Macs at all?
To me its slightly compromised,. For a start its being converted to Flash on the fly and then sent over your network. I find the picture goes a little darker but this could be down to how my actual wii settings are.
Over the next day or so i am going to sit and watch through a whole film this way to see how it is.
depending on your know-how you can set some routers to reserve certain ip addresses to certain pc's even when its running dhcp (automatic ip rather than static)
the easiest solution is to scrap dhcp and put everything on your network to be static, no more problems!
New to this streaming lark and abit thick when it comes to things like this. Right, I think I've got TVersity settings correct, I hope . So what do I have to do on the Wii side of things to strem video on the Wii.?
1. Open the Wii’s web browser and enter the address http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:41952/flashlib, where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the computer on your home network that is running TVersity.
So, in windows (If an XP PC) got to START, RUN, type "cmd" then in the dosbox type "ipconfig", this will show you the IP address to substitute for the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx part of that web address.
Add it as a favourite so you dont have to remember it.

Thanks for that. But can you point out which ip address to use.

Does my router info page display my PC's ip address?
It'll be the button one of those 2 I think, not really sure you have a lot listed there LOL !!
Thanks, I'll have a mess around with it.
At least it is on mine.
Thanks for that.

Click the start orb
Type: CMD in the search box and press enter
Type: ipconfig in the command box that opens up.
Check out the IPV4 Address for your IP
Is that just for the install or every time I use it?
