Search engines like google and bing will normally show suggested results based on your search history. So if you do a lot of searches on a certain subject futures results and suggestions will be tailored based on what you search for most. They use the same system for targeted advertising so if you do a search for a new washing machine you will probably notice that banner ads on different websites start advertising kitchen appliances or other similar products.
This of course only works if you have cookies enabled.

The results you get back can depend on a lot of things from your previous search history to what your friends are posting about on facebook. They also use currently trending topics on social networks and news websites.
I just did a search on bing for skinny dip and the top suggestions were:
skinny dip headphones
skinny dip accessories
skinny dip phone case
skinny dipping sites in north wales
skinny dip phone covers
skinny dip dragons den
skinny dip cases
skinny dip phone
I do a lot of searches for electronics so that is probably why most of the results are related to phones and accessories, athough I am not sure why it is suggesting skinny dipping sites in north wales.
Mmmm yeah, the OP needed to tap " Skinny Dip " into Bing Images for, um, research purposes ?

My Dad innocently tapped "Little Smooth Russian Dolls" into Google, very bad move.
A while back I was looking for some boat fenders and I couldn't remember what they were called. I am probably on some list now for searching for small white buoys.
