If you're reading this, thank you.

My dad found a lump on our kitten last night. On her side....She is only 6 months old...cause for concern?

Thanks.

Take her to the vet. It's probably nothing - how big is it?

I haven't felt it...but I know that when mum or dad finds the lump she tries to get away, starts crying etc :(.

Does she go out? Could be an absess from a bite? Especially as it seems painful.

At that age I'd hope it is something that the vet can sort easily :)

Please take her to the vet so you can put your mind at ease. It's probably nothing but there's no use spending Christmas worrying about it!

At such a young age it is unlikey to be anything sinister - but if she does go outside it could well be an absess which will need treatment - lancing and flushing, plus antibiotics. If you notice a really rank smell between now and getting her to the vet, it means the absess has ruptured - it will stink the room out. Definitely take her to the vet for a diagnosis.
