Just got the update. Find it far too busy, also it has crashed down twice on me already when browsing through the games marketplace.

The fact that I have to see the same 'LoveFilm' advert on every single tab is beyond irritating.

Got mine this morning. I am underwhelmed tbh. Not tried IE yet.

I got the update this morning as well and to be honest its exactly what I expected, unnecessary and clunky.

Its a larger version of what we had before with more space for more adverts to annoy you and harder to navigate IMO.

Also why have they made the boxes where your achievements are displayed white when the others have stayed green, it looks stupid. Oh and the friends list is still awful.

I know most people wish they still had the old blade dashboard but I just wish I could have this one back (second part of video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOHRLZQ9jUE

Crashed another two times, first whilst trying to access the Halo Waypoint app, second while I was actually in the app and attempting to load up Forward Until Dawn Pt II.

So my 360 has crashed 4 times using Dashboard programs today, more than it has combined from several years. Beta testing clearly got the bugs out of this thing....

And on reflection of the whole thing, it is terrible.
Everything is so big and intrusive, with way too many recommendations, I don't need or want what are essentially adverts for other marketplace games, videos I can pay to watch on Zune, or music I can listen to on their ridiculous and overpriced music service.

You could always try clearing the update by following the steps HERE, it will then restart the xbox and apply the update again.

I had to do it myself with the previous update after it caused my xbox to freeze when initially spinning up a game disk.

Before doing the above though you should probably post on the xbox forum first and see what they say, they are no doubt dealing with thousands of issues with this latest piece of junk. :(

EDIT: That may be the wrong sequence to remove the update anyway, so you should definitely ask on the forum first.

For me it's just clutter I have to wade through to find something useful.

I don't mind them so much now as I don't look into any of the main menus anymore, I just launch the game from disc.

I just got the update today so not had chance to experience it fully. I do like the recommendations, that is a really good idea, and some of them actually seemed like games I would want to play.

The ads don't bother me too much, don't seem to be any more intrusive than they were before the update, the only thing that does bug me is the way the audio suddenly comes on if you move over the ad window by mistake, seems to play quite loud too, sometimes makes me jump if I had the volume up a bit.

I got it today. Biggest difference is the addition of Internet Explorer and Xbox Music. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how smooth IE is. They've spent time adapting it for the Xbox and it is fast and intuitive for a console. I've always seen browsers on games consoles to be horrible, clunky things.

Xbox Music looks good, had a quick browse. It's a lot like Spotify but there are music videos as well. It is £80 odd a year but there is a free 30 day trial to try it out.

Apart from that I liked how the Games tab started recommending games to me based on what I already play and search for. It said it had recommended Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge because I showed an interest in Fifa 12 and 13.

    Overall, I'm happy.

Where's the free 30 day trial located,as I can't find it on the Xbox Music app?
Only options is the month/year or not now option.
    Thanks

Cheers for this, will give it a go later tonight.

You can't remove a console update. Those instructions are for title updates (i.e. updates for Games and Apps). Even then, most new games store updates differently and they aren't removed that way.

What that process will do is to clear out the system cache. That can fix some problems.

As I said, I was told to do so myself after posting on the xbox forums after the last update, upon doing so it rebooted my xbox and re-downloaded and applied the update.

The guide I posted above does only clear the cache, the button sequence you need to use is actually X,LB,RB,X,LB,RB,X. Again I've used it myself so know it works, theres also a video HERE showing that it works.

Only problem with that is missing content on the app version.

What content is it missing exactly?

I think if you link it up with your own YouTube account, it should have pretty much the same stuff.....

    I didn't know that, I don't have a YouTube account.

The content that's missing seems to be copyright material like music videos etc, but if everything is ok from your own account then I might just open a YouTube account. Thanx for the info.

No flash = no porn, that's what is really peeing folk off right?! lol

Xbox music apparently has 30 million tracks, as opposed to Spotify's 18 million. Trying to complete an 80's playlist and none of the 30-odd tracks I'm missing are on there, so not sure how accurate that is. Got a couple of hundred tracks from the last few months to find, so I'll see how many of the gaps I can fill.

Still doesn't work. I think there are still copyright issues. As soon as the YouTube app was available, I linked up my account with my Xbox one. I had a large playlist on YouTube, which I wanted to play on my Xbox because it's hooked up to my theatre kit.
But there were several videos missing from my Xbox/YouTube playlist, but still available on my regular YouTube account.
