Agree with the driver, if you want to act like a man, don't be surprised if someone gives you a crack if you spit on them.

I saw a bus driver recently being verbally abused and insulted after he challenged a young male passenger who got on and went past the driver without a ticket or a valid pass. I was shocked at the aggression that the driver was subjected to just for doing his job. He did nothing and said nothing to respond to the abuse. The yob got off and the driver just drove on but I wondered how he must feel during his working day. It would be hard to have to put up with abuse.

In the case in the video, there was some furious altercation with noisy aggro but I can't really make head or tail of what it is all about and suddenly there is this shocking brutal attack by the driver. I am surprised that anyone would defend that sort of brutality.

Just cos she is female doesnt give her a free pass to act as she likes towards men, like so many do, And in this golden age of equality, she rightly deserved it!

Nobody deserves to be treated like that in their daily job, she was nothing but trash and she got taken out.

It's hard to say. At the beginning you can hear him saying he'll get his daughter and his granddaughter to beat her ass, then something about cutting her face up. Clearly the argument was both sided and we don't know how it started.

Her solution was to push (slap?) him. His was to floor her with a punch most grown men couldn't take.

Don't know if I'm taking any sides but he definitely went too far IMO.

If he had time to stop the bus and punch her, he could have simply grab her and throw her off the bus.

She was totally in the wrong but he shouldn't react that way.

Don't you be talking sense on a thread like this, it won't go down well :D;)

    Oh dear.

Are you opposed to equal rights? Because 'equal fights' is a physical impossibility when men are so significantly physically stronger.

The (very large) bus driver could have easily restrained and ejected the young woman. And he would have been perfectly entitled to do so quite forcefully.

However, to see a man uppercutting a young woman cheered is beyond depressing.

She was and is a moron - but what he did was absolutely despicable.

When you stoop as low as spitting in someone's face then you can't use the "i'm a woman card".

Yes, I forgot to include this in my post.

The exchange at the beginning was extremely two-sided - he was doing every bit as much shouting and threatening as she was - more, even.

Of course he's the bus driver and she should let him drive the bus. But I felt like I was watching a different video to the rest of you. This was no timid little man sitting there getting shouted at - they were having a barney.

Then he stands up and thumps her. Lovely.

There's a lot of whoop whooping going around in the bus audience - wonder if there were hamburgers and fries going round.

Why would that indicate hamburgers and fries?

What a nasty piece of work hope he gets what he deserves, threatening to slice her face etc... then an over the top violent response. Anyone who thinks this is okay go back to the ~#JS thread and do the same there. Now I understand what the under belly to society means ..they are on here.

The underbelly of society? Really? I don't know about you but I am a Graphic Designer based in The City (London) ... Hardly underbelly... I suppose you condone her spitting at him, being verbally abusive while he is driving and then shoving/hitting him? She is hardly the victim in this

I wish our bus drivers would do that to the scum we get on our public transport.

No sympathy with her at all. She'll think twice before gobbing off again.

She did that. Perfect would have been if she stayed down.

are you against equal rights? all men arent stonger than all women and not all men are as strong as other men.
if it was two men would that have been different?
if it had been a man kicking off and a woman bus driver hit him would that be alright?
if a big guy uppercuts a small guy is that ok? what about if the little guy knocks out a big guy? is that equally wrong or less wrong?

if you hit someone they have the right to hit you back, male or female, big or small. if you cant take the hit dont start the violence.

Under belly does not mean poor it means no clear sense of morality...I don't condone her actions nor his.... irrespective of the under bellies moral stance...

My sense of morality is perfectly fine thank you... I don't agree with hitting a woman but when she throws all that abuse, spits, attacks him etc, well then she deserved it! I personally wouldn't have punched her but I would have given her a slap that's for sure

You equated equal rights with equal fights; which is a nonsense comparison. I'm all for equal rights but it's purely a simple fact that, almost always, men are physically stronger than women - my question to you is, if an equal fight is impossible, where do you stand on equal rights?

There are very, very, very few situations where a man will be weaker than a woman - very few. That's down to basic physiology. Of course it would be different if it were two men, or a female bus driver and a male passenger. Obviously it would be different.

I don't think anyone uppercutting anyone in any situation is OK. But then I yearn for something like a civilised society.

In this particular situation, THAT particular man could have very easily restrained THAT particular woman and escorted her off the bus. He, however, was too busy describing how he would 'cut her up' before punching her.

    And HE is being defended.

It's a sick, sad, society sometimes.

This clip in a way reminds me of a clip I saw about a year ago on youtube in London... Language is quite foul but the guy goes mental!

Yes I caught something about a granddaughter and something about a sliced face. Truly gruesome and shocking that a bus driver would even think like that, never mind say it.

What I find depressing is that a woman can behave like a thug, be seen to do so, yet there are still people leaping to her defence. Why? A thug is a thug, regardless of sex.

The bus driver shouldn't have retaliated, but the woman shouldn't have been shouting, spitting and acting aggresively towards him. This isn't a case of an unprovoked attack, so it shouldn't be judged like one.

I’ve not been able to view the link yet, so sorry if it is mentioned in it.

When did this happen? Was it very recently, or is it long enough ago for there to be an outcome? Ie, was there any court case either way? Did he lose his job, etc?

It was a couple of weeks ago. He's been suspended from his job after 20 years in the job.
