I don't believe he was a sheep, he stood up for something (however trivial it might appear to us outside the house), and within a few hours, due to pure selfishness that solidarity was completely forgotten.

And didn't their sudden turn around in forgiving Speidi and taking their letters while only 24 hours earlier agreeing not to read the letters as a group just prove Spencer right, that they wont all be mates when they get out.
