Nick Griffin gives some reasons to reconsider, and to vote for the British National Party instead. :)

But if you still vote UKIP anyway you'll reap what you sow.

Although im not a UKIP voter i will give them enough credit to say most are not racist or homophobic like the BNP so don't see many changing their vote to your party. The people voting ukip are against the EU, fed up of the three major parties being the same and are probably concerned a little with islam in the uk. Now despite what you might say the bnp hate non white people, gay people, non british people and even non christians which leaves them as a party of hate who desire a strange land where we all must be the same in nearly every way.

I doubt any of his reasons are strong enough for the overwhelming majority of people to opt to vote for a racist party led by a racist, to be honest.

Here's hoping the BNP lose the only European seat they have and are consigned to the dustbin of political history.

I don't see much difference between the 2 parties. I suppose UKIP are less blatent with their prejudices. Either way they are both parties for the hateful.

Care to add some substance to that statement, or are you on a wind up?

If you vote for Labour, Red Ed is going to flood the Country with immigrants, and stick working class Brits in Gulags.
It's easy to make some outlandish statement without backing it up.

I am from Northern Ireland and I am seriously considering voting UKIP as no 1 on my ballot paper even before one of the major Unionist parties. That is how much I like UKIP.

People are tired of ultra liberalism. UKIP will do well and deserve to for being honest about the UK.

Just "seriously considering" it? Given multiple posts like this:

I'd have assumed your mind was well and truly made up.

I sincerely hope that we do!! - but, when it really matters, the unthinking partisan Left and Right brigade, ( because their Dad'a always did), will no doubt ensure that we merely recycle the old political system, whereby the Party in office will either be allowed to continue for a bit longer, or has already upset too many of the electorate so will be temporarily replaced by t'other one..........................................unless of course Coalitions are now to become the 'third way'.

You have an order of preference in Northern Ireland.

Unfortunately the rest of us don't. :(

As the two main parties are both right wing, I don't see UKIP as a remedy. They just strike me as the Tories on speed.

The Tories are battling the centre ground. UKIP are more to the right. Something which the Conservatives should move towards. They are not Conservative any more.

UKIP are an interesting case in that their ideology is at once claimed to be old fashioned one nation Toryism by some and libertarian by others. Why people think they will be radically different to Labour or Conservative is a mystery to me though. They'll be less PC and pay lip-service to their core voter but it'll be the same policy direction - welfare cuts, privatization, appeasement of financial sector etc.

So why is there no true left wing party then?

The Conservatives aren't right wing enough? Jesus... :o
How anyone can look at their economic policies and conclude that they aren't right wing enough is a mystery to me - it is simply an extension of Thatcherism. Even their major social policy change can be seen as right wing in a sense. Same-sex marriage inviting LGBT couples to be part of the traditional middle class mainstream. Aside from that we have porn filters etc. on the horizon. I'm struggling to see where all this 'centre ground' stuff is coming from.

Mainly because most UK elections are fought on the middle ground. Labour benefits from mopping up left wing votes because of its history as a leftist party, despite having parted company with left wing policy in the 90s.
