Little snippet about the magicians

Small story in the Mail today. Apparently the magicians had planned a big stunt if they got through to the final, with the Hoff ,where they would come over do something with his watch and the Knight Rider car would appear on the stage behind them.
The producers thought it was a great idea, unfortunately Cowell voted for Jean to go through,allegedly because he feared they would win the final.

    Wow. What a shame, now we won't ever get to find out how good the illusion might have been. You may suspect the hoff is none to happy not to have been adorned once more. Surely the producers must have known how good or bad the act would have gone and d and k would have saved their best for final. It did seem v. Strange the night jean was bigged up so much although she did poll more votes, the decision to put her through was baffling especially after the positive comments. At the time i thought maybe they just werent truly great magicians and the show was waiting for an even btr act to enter before they pushed them to the final. Though the chances of that occuring over 5 series would have came by now. d and k are still v. good imo and it was a shame we never got to see their finisher, it may have been good enough to win though thats perhaps optimistic there is no way of knowing now. Thanks bgt and jean, if only you had played the keys as normal and not allowed them to turn you into joke. We could have replaced the most cringeworthy moment of the final with the best of the entire series. Doh.

    Well maybe if the magicians hadn't performed a trick that could be worked out so easily in the semis they would have got through.

    That was their downfall imo, nowhere near as impressive as the first one, plus david's ott comments about bringing magic back, watch him shake his head after. They were still surely one of the best magic acts on our program so far, and it would have been great to see what they might have been able to produce. The fact they had such a low percentage of votes could suggest they were either not that good in ppls eyes, that we've become bored of magic or don't reflect much interest in variety on bgt, maybe all 3. Hopefully this spurs others on to outdo the emphasis on music/dance, though it's hard to predict. Oh well, only another year to find out. :rolleyes:

    Well Jean had more % than David and Karen anyway so Simon's vote is pointless, if he had gone the otherway it'd have still been Jean who went trough

    In fact, Simon's vote was pointless anyway as the other 3 had already voted for Jean.

    Also, what would it matter if they had won? :confused: Simon can still make money from the other acts

    Another crappy poorly thought out conspriacy from the Mail. Nothing new there then.
