This prank says more about people who like to think they know what they're on about and pretend to be up to date on technology.
It also say a lot about how people do not want to disagree with people. They are on film and have been told its the new iPhone. People would tend not to disagree for fear of being made a fool. No doubt the inteviewer would have prompted the comments.
The new iPhone is thiner and lighter than the iPhone 4. Would you say you can notice?
The processor is twice as fast as the previous one. Does it feel more responsive?
When faced with these type of questions people will tend to agree. Many studies have been done on this and they they all confirm this behavior. As far as humour goes, it is quite funny, but don't read anything significant into it.
