i wouldn't normally agree with them, but i did feel a little uncomfortable watching both xtina and rihanna on saturday.
i am a teacher in a secondary school and have noticed how influential these artistes are , and how their style is copied by very young girls.

I think its a shame that talented singers like Xtina and Rhianna feel that they have to dress in next to nothing to get attention.

If only Christina had worn a little more makeup. Very understated as ever, as was her dress. Obviously still in mourning that her marriage broke up ten minutes ago.

It wasn't just what Christina was wearing, she was quite covered up, it was watching the dancing that bothered me, looked like a routine from the Burlesque film - which I want to go and see, but don't want my 10 year old to watch. However, she was sitting next to me watching the X Factor.

Maybe your beinga little over protective over your child, you might wanna check out music vids in the last 15 years, the new flo rida video[quite pervy], also kids 2day even kids 20 yrs ago wear talking pretty dirty stuff.
You might wanna cast you mind back to to when you was a kid, take your rose coloured glasses off and be honest with yourself, 20 years ago we had maddona whoring it about! ahhh the 80's, LoL!
Yer I gunna see that burlesque film too, hot chicks dancing, whats not to like abou that!!!

It was written by Jan Moir - I think that says it all. I never use the word 'hate' about people I don't know or have never met, but I can say that - based on this woman's views and opinions - I genuinely hate her - especially after Stephen Gately's death (and her non apologetic attitude following it). A vile, disgusting woman and it's a disgrace that she has a platform like this to spout the nasty things she does.

Their 'careers' have always been based around dressing like auld slappers. It is what sells these days. Nobody should be surprised.

Does creating a society with no taboo's & no morals make for a good society? Look around you people. Look at the news. I would rather my kids didn't watch these church going hookers (eg Beyonce) grinding in your face on the TV, acting like they're in a porno. And don't get me started on Gaga.

When I was a kid, I liked The Jam and Squeeze. They didn't make those sort of videos - in fact if you got a video at all you were lucky!! Duran Duran and Frankie were the most risque videos that I can remember but I was 12/14 by then not 10.

Just because Flo Rida has a 'pervy' video doesn't mean I or my kids have to watch it. Neither of my children like his music anyway so it's not an issue. I can remember Madonna from the 80's - her videos were quite tame by todays standards.

I would assume that because it is a 12A rating, they don't want my youngest to see it , if not it would be PG

Benny Hill used to be on pre-watershed tv, in a show full of sexual innuendo, and women running around in their underwear...

On strictly come dancing, there are plenty of women cavorting suggestively with their partner each week, wearing very little too.. yet there are not many complaints about that.

If kids cant be taught the difference between what is acceptable on a stage, and what is acceptable to wear in the street then there isnt much hope.

Daily Wail circ figures must be down this week, hence an anti-burlesque headline to get the pensioners reaching for their statins and re-ignite the mary whitehouse fan club.

You remember the 80s?! From your post you sound about 12 years old!

I don't think people were complaining about the lack of clothes per se. More of a case of bending over chairs wearing stockings and suspenders? I agree, it shouldn't have been shown at that time. I wouldn't want my kids to see it (if I had any..).

Unfortunately it's the way it goes nowadays.. less clothes and you're gonna get noticed. It's only the women that have to do this though have you noticed? Male singers/groups don't have to be thrusting their crotch etc at us "cooee look at us!".

    Pathetic.

I don't think its the lack of clothes people are complaining about either. It's the pretending to be a sexy pole dancer and gyrating like a porn star thing. It sort of gives the message that that's what women have to do to be successful.

I did not see the show but from those pictures, it does seem a bit risque for younger viewers. Saying that when they are all moving about it might not have appeared as bad.

Thanks for that, made me feel like I am not being a prude, and I thought he was a kid as well! Sort of thing my teen daughter's boy mates would say!:D

And no you don't see JLS writhing round, or The Wanted pole dancing. Though I did see one of McFly moon on telly, made me laugh as he had the same pants as my husband, probably a few sizes smaller!:D
