Does anyone know when Supernatural series nine will be released on dvd & Blu-ray in the UK please? I'm annoyed that Sky stopped showing it after season 8.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Not true. It's region locked. Only way you would be able to play it is if you have a multi-region player like a previous poster stated. They can be picked up quite cheap thesedays. A blu-ray one will cost in the region of £120.
Season 9 will be region-free, just like the other 8 seasons have been.
There would be no point in region locking in the first place because people would just import them at a much cheaper price.
Just check Supernatural Season 9 on Amazon US

"Region: Region A/1"
DVD release:

Region: Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only. Read more about DVD formats.)
Region 1 is the same as Region A. The UK is Region 2/B.
It comes out on the 8th October in the UK and the region free comes out on or soon after.
Amazon.com has always listed them as Region A on release. They never have been. You're better off looking at the listings provided by dedicated import services.
DVDWorldUSA is who I normally import through, the listing below confirms multi-region.

Movietyme also confirm it's region-free;

HDMovieSource as well;

WBs as a rule just don't region code their BDs, they rarely region-coded their DVDs. They're not the only ones though, Universal don't region-code, Paramount don't as a rule, nor Sony. It's more unusual now that a release is region-coded than not. At least in the States. Unless your talking niche distributors like Shout/Scream Factory or Criterion. That's why imported BDs are far more prevalent than DVDs ever were. Ironic given that one of the major reasons that BD was backed over HD-DVD was that HD-DVD was completely region-free, but there you go....
Either way, I'll be able to confirm definitively soon, my copies on the way....;)
Some sellers are stating any DVD player made after 2006 will play all regions. I am not sure about this or whether they mean easy to unlock to any region????? I know I did unlock my one.
You can pre order it on Woolworths.co.uk... but heads up they've moved release date from 20th Oct 2014 to 23 March 2015 as region 2 (UK) is not having a big enough demand so not yet in manufacture.. you can buy region 1 on DVD if you unlock your DVD player to be able to play it (USA format) theyre for sale all over Ebay.. and reion 1 which is compatible with region 2, but be warned quality on compatible isn't great
I can confirm the US Blu-ray for Season 9 is REGION FREE. Whatever it says on Amazon.com is a mistake, probably by accident, but the Blu-ray works perfectly fine in my Region B Blu-ray player.
