  Only a couple of guys here but I am encouraged. I thought I was the only one in the world that remebered this. I was watching Precious Bane last night and Milton Johns was in it. He has always looks exactly the same. It is as though he was born 40.
  
  I cant remember too much of the plot but it intrigued me as a 12 year old and I remember it being all rather sinister.

  I was 9 when it was on but I think I was too young for it as its never stuck in my mind like so many other series from the same era- most of which are now out on dvd

  I've always been intrigued with The Intruder series mainly because of the dreary setting and the fact that nothing much seemed to happen during each episode.
  
  From what I remember, a mysterious character with a patch over an eye arrives and claims he is a relation/son of Arnold Haithwaite putting the two known sons in a quandary.
  
  This was a six part series and we all waited patiently for the denouement in the sixth episode. Unfortunately this was in the time of the 70's Fuel Crisis and, yes, you've guessed it we got a power cut which spanned the complete final episode.
  
  So I never did find out what happened in the end!

  That happened to us with the final episode of A Family at War. They repeated it a few days later.
