I am voting "party name" because....

LABOUR

They seem to be the only Westminster party looking into the future for todays youth, young professionals, the current and future tax payers of the national debt.
The idea behind a 3 year tenancy and rent cap wins me over.

Abolishing stamp duty for first time buyers, again works for me.

NMW set at £8ph is very good as it will benefit my Mam greatly.

Tuition fees lowered, which will mean less debt (longterm).
Being honest, none of the other Westminster parties have said anything that resonates with me, I have looed at the Liberals and again nothing. The Tories put me off with that stupid uncosted, illthought Right to Buy announcement. In the long term the Tories have no plans help everyone out. They are promising a tax cut for well off people with £1 million homes when they pass them on to their family. £12bln of cuts to welfare which they havent said what parts will be cut, they know it will be bad thats why they are trying to talk about the economy.

I just hope everyone votes for anyone but Tory, and see through the lies they give about Europe or even the SNP with the rather childish advertisements. Everyone has a voice and a part to play whether you are on the right or the left, the Tories just won't deliver and for that reason I am going to do my hardest to persuade people to vote anyone but David Cameron and Conservatives on May 7th.

Who are you voting for and why?

Labour... because they are unlikely to push through yet more measures to kick the poor, and will even abolish the 'bedroom tax'. Basically... I will vote Labour because Iain Duncan Smith is a Tory.

Not sure to be honest, but thinking about the Green party, only because they are not Tories or labour or Lib Dems. It is greens or UKIP, the only choice left.
I have to make up my mind soon other wise my postal vote will not get there in time.

the economy is the main issue how people cast their vote. but on this and immigration i just dont think labour have learned any lessons and 5 yrs obviously hasnt beent long enough in the wilderness for them. but also the way they tell the voters you cant have a referendum on the eu. so very controlling and shows they havent changed.
so its ukip for me as they let people have a say on things. plus they wont spend as much money as the others but what they spend will be mainly on the uk and not the eu or abroad. :)

Im sorry but you wont persuade me not to vote Conservative. I don't believe that Labour will deliver on half of what they have promised. Labour have got a pretty poor track record on the economy and without a strong economy you cant deliver what Labour is promising.

I know I am in the minority on here but having a Labour government really does concern me.

UKIP because I believe we should leave the EU. Otherwise it would be Green because although they want to stay in EU they believe a referendum should be held.
Lib, Lab, Con patronise us, and in Lab and Lib case will definitely not allow a referendum. The Tories sneak around it like shifty salesmen hoping to grab the votes and run.

It's the blue team for me in the general election.

However, I have today decided to vote Independent in the local elections as the council needs a total shake up.

All the parties have plans I agree and disagree with, but the Tories have more that I disagree with than the others (and I just don't trust them to do what is right for the country and the less well-off rather than favouring the wealthy and businesses that can benefit them personally at the expense of everyone else), so that leaves me with voting LibDems as they're the only ones with any chance of unsetting the sitting Tory here.

    SNP

It's the closest to me politically. I can see bits of all of the parties that I like and dislike. The only other party that ever tempted me was the Lib Dems during Ashdown/Kennedy times.

    I've never voted before.

I agree Labour left a horrible legacy relative to the banks and under regulation, the crash was going to hit no matter who it was. Admittedly bailing out the banks cost this country shed loads.

How you use your vote is a personal decision, granted we are at opposite ends of the table. I have no problem if people want to vote Tory, thats your or their choice. I disagree with their policies and what they aren't doing for young people.

I am no socialist, I am slightly jealous Scotland has the SNP to stand up for their interests. Nicola Sturgeon has proved to be a very good orator and shrewd politician, something which is lacking from the main current westminster parties. Labour is the closest to match my own aspirations, I have found the Labour campaign to be a lot more positive. LibDems and Tories have been a bit wet, Nick Clegg is trying to stay relevant knowing he is likely to lose is seat. David Cameron got a kick up bum and put a rocket up his backside.

Really the point I am making is Labour are the only party to be offering young students, professionals, workers a better future. Something the other have failed ot realise.

The Green Party because animal welfare is one of the main issues for me this time and I think they're the party that will be more likely to deal with that. Although, luckily I live in an area in which the Tory party doesn't stand a chance which helps.

Probably Lib Dems tactically to keep the Conservatives out. My constituency has always voted Lib Dem or Conservative (2500 votes between them in last election) and while I am a strong Labour Supporter, it will be a wasted vote if I vote for them.

After seeing Cameron runaway from a head to head debate with Millibrand and duck most of the rest I will vote Labour.
Originally I did not intend to vote at all, but for all its faults I think Labour still has some decent people among its ranks that genuinely want to improve the lot of the disabled, ill, poor and disadvantaged.

Whereas the Tories seem determined to reward the rich even more with tax cuts, punish the disabled and ignore uncivilised practices like ZHC's.

I'm spoiling my ballot because none of the candidates or their grotty little parties meet my required standards.

Conservative - Milliband is moving Labour leftwards towards policies which may look attractive at first glance but will fail in the real world. I don't for one minute believe he has had some kind of Damascan conversion to prudent spending - he cannot just forget what happened when he advised Brown and think that we will believe him when he cannot even admit he got it wrong. (Andrew Marr brought up this point on Sunday - Milliband avoided a straight answer to the question).

Under the Conservatives we have a growing economy, record levels of employment, and jobs being created. Under Milliband HSBC will just be the first of many companies to relocate and take those jobs with them. When he finds that his spending commitments outstrip what he is collecting we will see increased inflation, more borrowing, weakening currency, unemployment will stop falling and eventually increase and people will be worse off in the long term.

Labour because they were second in the constituency last time, the candidate is local and the current MP is a bigoted git whose chief feature is a hatred of everything

That is why I voted for a local party called it's our county for the local election. Not sure if they will make a difference, but after meeting a few of their candidates while doing a video shoot, I tend to agree with a lot of what they say.

All our council is doing is building more road, which they need to build more houses to pay for it, so then we get more cars on the road, so the roads become gridlock again. This city comes to a standstill in the afternoon and evening.

Also the closure of the toilets, most have been closed, not a good way to get tourist in. The old city centre are losing shops, a lot have gone to the new shopping centre, after we was told that it would not happen, more tory lies.

So it is time for a change and I hope IOC gets in and can do that.

It is time for a change nationally as well, time for Labour and Tories to go and lets get another party in, sadly this country are stuck with voting for either Tories or labour. Been a two party system for years and will carry on that way.

    CONSERVATIVE

Because I don't believe in a a large controlling Government, I would prefer more private companies being responsible for creating jobs because that strengthens the economy, rather than just employing 100,000 civil servants (who will be axed again once a new Tory Govt. comes into power). Because the country has just entered a phase of stability and economic growth and I think it is right for Britain that it should continue. Because I would like to see less people dependent on benefits and more dependent on themselves. Because I am more a liberalist rather than a socialist. Because Ed Balls isn't in the Tory Party.

Anyone but Labour, because I'm not an idiot. 13 years of damage is enough to make me steer clear, let alone their half baked promises that will likely get ignored the instant they take power.

Probably the local party as I don't like the Conservatives and I don't like the Lib Dem candidate

Small, probably UKIP in the absence of independent. Was going Green until Bennett showed her aptitude for political matters. Cannot sanction the Reds or Blues under any circumstances these days. Yellow (Nick) needs a kick. He was 'put there' last time as a protest by millions and immediately capitulated and rolled over for a tummy tickle, he needs a lesson from the masses. There's mileage in among the UKIP rhetoric, not all by any means is palatable, but at least Farage (and support) is likely to cause whatever government to question their own rhetoric.
