It is kind of awful and unbelievable, but I think I'll watch to the end. Has it as little structure it may be unpredictable, and give an interesting finale.
I didn't realise the lead actor was Moriarty at all. Also got confused with the much younger daughter and thinking they were actually skipping about in time.
The shoolgirl daughter looks about 30.
Apart from that, so far so good.
Julia McKenzie is looking like she's only holding on by her fingernails and Andrew Scott always looks like he's about to go utterly bonkers and shoot everyone.
I think the copper - dunno his name - will be intrigued enough to order an exhumation, before too much longer.
The lad who's the trainee undertaker and who was in Shameless is going to be key for some weirdy reason, I think.
And as for Martin Clunes, he's rarely in anything duff. I haven't got a handle on his character yet, but I suppose Mark will appeal to him and he'll champion the cause of reinvestigating the deaths.
I presume we're going to be getting flashback scenes, else why cast Phil and Siobhan? They're too much of big name actors to have only been in one scene.
So yep, I'll give it another go next week. Interesting.

I think he's heavily involved with the deaths. The mother worked for the council.

But he said at the funeral that he had never met either of them
It was all a bit weird for me, there was very random things thrown in like Betty saying " your grandfather slept with prostitutes you know, that's where all the money went"
My early guess is that Mark has a lot more to do with the deaths.... it was mentioned that he was very successful in his work place but we was not told what he did for a living in London.
Not overly impressed by it but will watch again next week.

BIB - I think the parents who committed suicide were in debt, hence why the grandmother said that to the son .... I think :o
I dunno why, but I feel the Policeman has got something to do with it for some strange reason
Got it on Sky link so will make sure I don't miss it
Comments
Yeah, I remember that.
Wasn't she also in Casualty?
Near enough, Holby City.
Unbelievable characters...go to the pub, day your M&D die???
Huh? Lost! Missed first ten mins. Now will miss last ten - off to work
This is all weird, no grief or berevement just mostly selfish people!!
yep.....first episode almost over and i still don't really know or care about any of them.
Its a bit of a poor way to get an audience gripped
and gets up to speak,,,even though he said himself he didn't know them
Now over to The Fear.

It's really hard to like any of the characters - but there was a mysterious"why did they kill themselves" hook kinda holding it all together.

I don't think we have been told that yet.
Maybe his work dried up because of lack of council contracts?
