This week is supposedly the start of Emmerdale's big week. I think anything less than over 7 million will be considered failure.

I think 6.5m on Monday. I doubt it will get into the 7million bracket, though it may come close

I think Monday could rate about normal (maybe 6 million or so which is higher than it's been doing but not hugely so) and then Tues/Weds could be 6.5-7 but after that then back to normal again.

Given the amount of promotion, it's fair to say that they'll be very disappointed if they don't hit 7 million at some point this week.

Between 5.5 - 6.5 million all week. The weather will play a part as well as ED rarely get higher ratings for big scenes unfortunately.

I'd hazard a guess at 6m-6.5m over the next few days.

The amount of promotion has built up a reasonable expectation of 7.5m-8m.

How much did the live episode (2012) and woolpack siege (2013) get?

    Not sure about live week

    Cameron siege (2013)
    Wed 16 Oct - 8.13 (38.5%)
    Thur 17 Oct - 7.75 (37.8%) - 7.89 (35.2%)

Donnas death / Aarons return (big august storyline from last year)
    Thur 14 Aug - 5.51 (30.6%) - 5.83 (29.1%)

    Last Monday's overnight was 6.18 (32.8%)
So should be expecting at least that for tonight's ep.

Unrealistic expectation for august - could only manage those numbers for siege week in October 2 years ago.

Last week had 6.18m - but that was the aftermath of the affair reveal and the weather wasn't great.

I think the affair reveal should've been last week to provide a better lead in for the big week.

Corrie passed 7 million last Monday. EastEnders was also high end of 6 million.
7 million is not Unrealistic unless we are in a middle of a huge Heatwave.

I think close to 8 million on Tuesday could be possible. I'd expect Tuesdays Hour to be the highest of the week.

The Weather is on Emmerdales side. Some parts could see some Thunder according to BBC news at 6 (It's dull here tonight)

Yep. Promotion across ITV chat shows,The Press and of course the trailer. The Bad press it has had regarding the events in Glasgow will help (See EastEnders Baby Swap and high ratings bump after complaints) Emmerdale will hit 7 million at some point this week easily.

It's had more promo than the siege and the weather isn't that great. :)

I forgot about Emmerdale being up against Eastenders, so could end up with 6.5 million viewers, rather than 7.

EastEnders is no threat to it. Just like EastEnders LIVE VS Emmerdale.

EastEnders will be reduced to an all time low. Bet ya!

They shouldn't go up against EE tomorrow.

I want to watch both shows. It's so annoying when this happens :(
