    He certainly does seem to be a belligerent sort, ready to flare up in anger. He wouldn't have my vote, that's for sure.

    What do you expect? He is ex-forces. Far higher proportion of belligerent thugs than the population at large.

    I probably wouldn't like the man or agree with many of his stances. But I have some sympathy if he is alcoholic as that would mean he is suffering from an illness. The Labour Party - and others - are wrong, in my opinion, to have treated him more harshly than those who are deliberately cheating the system. I would have taken a much softer approach than to those who fiddle their expenses. It worries me considerably that society takes the opposite view.

    And with that one sentence you dismiss anyone who has served in the forces.

    I would argue that the majority of ex forces are decent hard working people that contribute more to society than your average citizen.
