weird pain in leg

anyone have any idea why for the last few weeks i have been getting a numbness or stabbing pain on my right thigh? I thought it was my keys at work rubbing me but it was still there during my two week break. My thigh is almost always numb, but sometime it really stings. This has never happened before and I am at a loss. Anyone else had this or know what it might be? On a different note I have just noticed the word weird does not follow i before e except after c :)

any history of rheumatism or arthritis in your family?
have you maybe pulled a muscle in your leg?
get it checked out for your own peace of mind any way.
my friend had the same sort of thing in her hand and it turned out be a neurological condition.
    hope your ok.

nope no history. I thought about a pulled muscle or trapped nerve but it's right on the surface. Its the skin that hurts but no discolouration or swelling, and it has been going on for about 6 weeks now:confused:

I've had that I think. Does it feel a bit like you've scalded it but there's nothing there at all? Just tingly and sensitive to touch.

I usually get it if I'm a bit run down or getting or suffering from a cold/flu. I have no idea what it is, but have got it all my life from one time or another. Not for ages though. Its usually on the inside of my forearms for me.
