One thing i admire her for is her support for LGBT rights. She was very vocal at a time when many people were not. She was also not afraid to share about her dislike for Bush, whose homophobic remarks angered her.
Ms Bacall waa a true liberal and wore this on her sleeve.
Apparently she held a VERY dim opinion of George Bush Senior and his wife. She never felt he was presidential material and wasnt thoughtful/serious enough about his politics stuff on an intellectual level to warrant her really rating him.She talked of him with semi amused dismissiveness:D and rolled her eyes when asked about him.
She liked the Reagans on a personal level and thought that they rose to the challenge of statesmenship that being President requires but she loathed their political views. She could up to a point set political differences aside if you had other saving graces or an established friendship. For instance she was good friends with staunch republician John Wayne.
I admired how she stood up against the McCarthy witch hunts against hollywood in the 1950s.
