Is it just me or do parts of the Red Dwarf theme sound a bit like the music to the daytime quiz Going For Gold
To the Manor Born and Yes Minister is one of the more obvious examples

The last half of the Blockbusters theme tune always felt like the theme tune to something else from years earlier, but I could never get my brain to tell me what it was.
We're in the tv section here......and they don't sound alike at all.
Isn't this thread amazingly similar to this other one you started....

What about the first Grange Hill theme and Give Us a Clue...?
I really have to agree with this- it's the first one I thought of. I always got them muddled up when I was a kid, and looking back I can see why.
Yeah, I'm sure that one could nitpick that they're not 100% identical, but the main sections are *very* similar in both style and melody.
True; I wouldn't have posted here if Fairyprincess0 hadn't already, but, er... they've shown both films on TV at some point, so there.
Apparently they were both versions of the same tune.
The start of "New York, New York" and which famous TV show?
&
Monty Python's Flying Zir Kusssssss...

Wait, no. That's probably not a good one. I'm no good at this... for some reason.
 Your right. Got that tune in my head now
I haven't heard the Emmerdale theme for decades, now, but the first four notes of the original Emmerdale Farm theme matched the Six Million Dollar Man exactly.
Although that had never occurred to me until I read your post.
