Is it just me or do parts of the Red Dwarf theme sound a bit like the music to the daytime quiz Going For Gold

To the Manor Born and Yes Minister is one of the more obvious examples

Dettol advert sounds like a remix of the original ITV Daybreak theme, including the original sting straight after the titles. Another version of this was used to promote Countrywise on ITV last year.

Something about the theme tune to 'Ripper Street' reminded me of the theme tune to 'Monroe'. That said, they're probably nothing like each other :)

The last half of the Blockbusters theme tune always felt like the theme tune to something else from years earlier, but I could never get my brain to tell me what it was.

Isn't this thread amazingly similar to this other one you started....

The second 'Grange Hill' theme tune (not the famous sausage-comic-strip one) always seemed very like 'Cagney and Lacey' to me.

I really have to agree with this- it's the first one I thought of. I always got them muddled up when I was a kid, and looking back I can see why.

Yeah, I'm sure that one could nitpick that they're not 100% identical, but the main sections are *very* similar in both style and melody.

True; I wouldn't have posted here if Fairyprincess0 hadn't already, but, er... they've shown both films on TV at some point, so there. :D

Apparently they were both versions of the same tune.

Theme to "The Wright Stuff" reminds me of Dancing In The Streets.

I never noticed it myself but my mother insisted that the themes for 'Miss Marple' and 'By the Sword Divided' were practically identical.

Men Behaving Badly theme is pretty much the same as the tune in Pulstar by Vangelis

I know it's not another theme tune but to me Pointless theme is Cliff's Devil Woman slowed down

I haven't heard the Emmerdale theme for decades, now, but the first four notes of the original Emmerdale Farm theme matched the Six Million Dollar Man exactly.

Although that had never occurred to me until I read your post.
