Relatively predictable. Poor Scott doing the whole season! They don't make as much effort as they used to with Christmas shows. It's always best of live lounge, big weekend, chart of the year etc, no special programming. Interesting that Huw is back on daytimes and Phil Taggart back in the show he was ousted from. Would have been good to hav ears him in for Zane instead.

It was the Scott Mills forums (Unofficial Mills), as he just cut and pasted it from there.

Although it is right, Digiguide lists the same.

Why has Greg James stopped doing the Christmas morning show he claimed to love doing so much?

If I remember correctly, last year he was on holiday in Australia so fair enough, he couldn't do it. I'd expected him to be back on it this year.

Scott has a longer history than Greg of doing Xmas mornings, probably as far back as the 90s, so good to have him doing it. I guess when Scott eventually leaves Radio 1 Greg may be given it back.

I loved Greg on Xmas breakfast especially as he was an excited little boy and enjoyed waking up the bosses and fellow DJs to see if they are listening.

Interesting they are using Jordan North and trialling him out

I notice Jameela Jamill is not on at all and not even on the years chart which she should be finishing for the top 40.

Never mind that- the Christmas pressie is there's no Grimmy for 2 weeks!

Listening to Grimmy feign interest in the hoary old Christmas classics is amusing. Last year he made it perfectly clear he LOATHES playing them!!
I guess he's been instructed to tow the line.

    7 mins? that long?

the best bit of his show is when he says, "Fearne is up next, bye"

In all fairness Fearne is just as annoying but sghe is the lesser of 2 evils....

I accidentally tuned in today, peak slot 8-8:30 a quiz, one of the questions, name a member of One Direction. Oh Dear.

Nice to see Radio 1 really challenging its audience with the strength of quiz questions.

Is the Nick Grimshaw show really that poor usually?

Yes. Not only is he inane the IQ level of the show seems startlingly low.

The show revolves around Grimmy talking excitedly about some celebs or another (usually one of his mates- hes ALWAYS banging on about the same few people). Occasionally he mentions going to the gym.
This seems the entire content of conversation on the show. Dull doesnt even begin to describe it.
    I dont understand young people.

It reminds me of the 'Where's da party at?' feature that Lisa Lanson off of the 90's did. Just her wittering on about hip and happening parties in the London's most expensive clubs that plebs would be ejected from.

    I listen to Grimmy:

Monday 09:30-10:00- Happy Monday - retro upbeat songs
Wednesday 08:00-08:45- Call or Delete- Prank Calls (they never delete)
Friday 09:30-10:00- The Nixtape part 2 which is less 1xtra and more classic Kisstory style

Seems odd that Radio 1 management haven't bitten on the Charlie Sloth & Scott Mills joint show idea from last year. I think it would be really interested, and both of them seem up for it, it's just management screwing it up from the sound of things...

I'm a bit confused why this would be so hard to arrange. Last week they offered to go on each other's shows, surely the management can't have an issue with that? If anything it would be great cross promotion for 1 Xtra.

Personally I think Charlie Sloth would be great for Radio 1. Id like to see him replace Grimmy when he eventually goes. I think Sloth has charisma & energy. Maybe he's too OTT for breakfast??

I miss some of these as I don't.listen after 9.
I like Happy Hardcore that's funny.
The Wake Up thing at 7.15am is extremely tiresome. He uses the same few samples all the time & its repetitive beyond belief. Its just a time filler. Something new needs to be put in its place.

I'm surprised by their New Years Eve offering of repeats of the Nixtape from the Breakfast show all the way from 4pm til the early hours of New Years Day. They used to really push the boat out on New Years Eve years ago.

Scott Mills is the best presenter at R1 by a country mile he is so tongue in cheek and witty. he will be missed if or when he does leave R1...hopefully he will find a home on R2, when that does eventually happen!!
