Is it reallly Elton John week? No doubt the theme will be changed again when it realised most of them can't sing the songs. Expect a generic theme to be installed by the end of the week. Power Ballards  or some such drivel.

They have a choice of these themes:

    Power Ballads
    80's
    90's
    Movie
    Rock
    Boyband
    Girlband

    and possibly more

After tonight's effort... Katie should do "I'm Still Standing" next week! :D

I'd like to hear Matt sing "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" that David Sneddon made such a good job of in Fame Academy!

I think Katie will do 'Honky Cat' or 'Crocodile Rock', assuming she wants to keep cultivating her 'fun, quirky Katie' persona.

her new persona will be to dress as Simba from the Lion King and belt out 'Circle of life';)

If Katie dosen't sing the Marilyn Monroe song, Candle In The Wind, I'll be really shocked

I'm thinking 'Empty Garden' for Aiden. Think it fits his style well and he could have a moment with it.

Ditto to "I'm Still Standing" for Katie. Ha-ha. Perfect.

One Direction will get Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word, seeing as though boyband Blue have covered it in the past.

I'm thinking Rebecca will probably get Your Song. She'll sing it great, but it would be boring and predictable for her. I'd rather someone else sang it.

Cher will probably get given Tiny Dancer, but do that god awful rap version. The very thought makes me incandecent with rage. Or, with any luck Cheryl will cheat and give her Ghetto Gospel. That would be good.

It would be funny if Katie did I'm Still Standing, but it won't suit her vocal. I'd much rather she did Your Song. But Cheryl will think Katie will sing it with passion as she can relate to it  She could do Candle In the Wind though.

It wouldn't surprise me if Wagner got Are You Ready For Love? Personally, I think he'd do a fabulous The Bitch Is Back :D

Mary should do Can You Feel the Love Tonight? Would be stunning.

It would be lovely to see Aiden do Rocket Man. I'd actually pay Dannii to let him sing that.

Matt would really suit Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me.

I think Paije could do Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Maybe even Crocodile Rock.

i don't know much of elton johns songs apart from the famous ones, but i've just been listening to some and

aiden would be brilliant at empty garden and also i guess that's why they call it the blues but paige would be good at the that and i think matt could be great with sacrifice

Katie "I think I'm going to kill myself" (from the album Honky Cat)
    Wagner " Passengers"
Cher "The Bitch is Back" or "Dirty little girl"
Wand Erection "I'm gonna be a teenage idol"
    Mary "Sweet Painted Lady"
    Paije "Jamaica Jerk Off"

I'm surprised they didn't go with a boyband theme considering their guests.

    So far my predictions are:

    Cher: Ghetto Gospel
    Wagner: Crocodile Rock
Matt: Your Song (Moulin Rouge style)

One Direction should do Eton Rifles. It looks a bit like Elton John without my glasses on so it's a close enough fit for the theme.

    Mary: The One
    Paije: Victim of Love
    Matt: Skyline Pigeon
    Aiden: Nobody Wins
    Rebecca: I Want Love
    Katie: A Cat Named Hercules
Cher: Take Me to the Pilot
    One Direction: Love Lies Bleeding
Wagner: pretty much anything - he'll still slaughter it, just as he did with "Bat out of Hell"

Whatever is chosen - it'd be really good to hear one or two of the less well-known and over-covered songs. Elton certainly has plenty to choose from.

I think that's the only Elton John song with a 'rap' element in it.

She may surprise us again and attempt another full song without rapping

I don't see why she should - it works for her and it's her style. Not saying she will necessarily do it justice, but think it's her best option!

I think Paije would be good doing Don't Let the Sun
I'm sure Cher will get Ghetto Gospel ;)
Circle of Life is a big anthem - too big for OD.
I'd like to hear Wagner do Something About The Way You Look Tonight :)
Matt would be good with Your Song (Moulin Rouge style) IMO.
Rebecca would be good doing Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters - Judith Durham's version of this is absolutely superb.

Are you Ready for Loaf? for Wagner - ha ha! :D
I think Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Woird would fit Katie's story.

What do I do to make you love me?
What I gotta do to be heard?

    Cynical, moi? :o

Actually Can You Feel The Loaf Tonight/Circle of Life could be awesome for Waggy :D
