I love it. I started watching it because I heard that, Larenz Tate was going to be in it so I thought that I would check it out. I have enjoyed all of the seasons.
Kristen Bell is great in it.
Have found season 3 to be very disappointing, seems to be developing a pattern at this point in terms of format of the storylines so everything is one step forward and two steps back.
It's still light and breezy but I think it's starting to suffering from the same problems that befell Gossip Girl, Entourage and Ugly Betty in that it can't decide what it wants to be tonally anymore after getting something of a rhythm going in season 2.
None of the characters are likable. They screw each other over more than they screw each other.
Liked the bit with Kristen's teeth though.

I liked the bit with Jeanie's teeth as well.
I think the show is funny and it keeps me interested. Maybe, it's a love or hate show. I'm really looking forward to season 4.

Seasons 1 and 2 did that but everything built up has been dumped again so now season 4 will be season 2 with the roles reversed, Marty the scorned lover trying to get back on top after making himself vulnerable and sleeping with Jeannie as opposed to Jeannie trying to get credibility back after sleeping with The Rainmaker who screwed over Marty and Jeannie, literally and figuratively to different degrees...
Doug is a divorced klutz again, Clyde is a desperate failure trying to claw his way into management's good books again, Jeannie is pining for Marty again, Marty has been betrayed again...
Just seems like the same tune in a different key.
I don't think that, Marty will act like a scorned lover. He will probably still be annoyed with Jeanie but will forgive her in time, because he loves her.
Also, he will forgive her because, he will eventually understand that, she didn't deliberately try to ruin him.
I think that season 4 will have Jennie trying to win back, Marty's trust and them finding a way, to get Marty, back to the company.
I also think that, Jeanie will get a load of grief from Clyde because he will blame her and won't see that, she didn't mean for things to turn out, the way, it did. Doug will probably be, the only one on Jeanie's side.
I can't wait to see what happens in season 4. Hopefully, they surprise us in a good way.
If you recall the first two episodes of this season, Jeannie made it clear that business was business and she'd not think twice if Marty got in the way of her professional goals. That is more or less what happened as far as Marty is concerned and he's not likely to trust her now she's basically forced him out of his own company after he forced him to make her partner.
Why would they want Marty back? Between the Dollahyde/the Dushkins/Collosal Foods investigation, he's toxic. They need to get his name off the letterhead and rebrand.
I think it is more likely he will try go into business with his ex-wife since both of them are now marketing executives with dodgy reputations, one for trying to fiddle the books to create a manipulated monopoly and one for driving her employees to stab her/get arrested sleeping in used cars.
They will want Marty back because he is their leader and they work better together.
I could see them, having Marty and Monica work together but I don't think that, it will be for the whole of season 4.
What Jeanie wanted and what she got are different things. Also, as a marketing executive taught by a marketing executive who is utterly ruthless, what Jeannie wants and what will be good for the company are different things. Bringing back Marty would not help her grow the firm and distance it after 3 massive strikes against them (losing McLintock/Dollahyde, the financial investigation that makes it look like Marty tried to set up a monopoly with Jeannie to bribe her into screwing over their old firm).
As it is season 4 will be season 2 and season 3 in varying amounts with Marty and Monica as the power couple with damaged reputations, Jeanie finding herself swimming with the sharks and really Clyde and Doug are just spinning their wheels at this point as comedic manchildren who can't develop relationships or keep them going. I actually liked Doug as the lovable loser charming and failing but he just turned into a massive, ungrateful douche after seemingly maturing thanks to being put under pressure to grow up and and like a husband.
So you think that Jeannie, will put aside her feelings for Marty and just concentrate on what's right for the business?
Doug did try to make amends but Sarah told him, about the abortion, so who knows if they will still be together, in season 4.
Hopefully, there will be more character development for Clyde and Doug.
I think she made it clear business comes before pleasure and personal relationships in the series time and time again. Screwed the Rainmaker to try make partner, screwed over Marty and got a pod when he defected, told him she's throw him under a bus the next time she had a chance, now she has taken over his business... I think the question is does Jeannie value Marty that much since we've seen Marty's priorities shift over time, to the point he considered her reminding him she loved him at the end of season 2 to be a temporary annoyance from an obsessive crush confused over her daddy issues?
Doug is just a total idiot to me. Clyde's arc could lead to some redemption in the future, I thought they were doing that with the rehab CEO girlfriend angle but I guess not.
I wonder if they'll ever bring up Marty's little brother having sex with Monica again... I do think Cheadle can win some more Golden Globes for scenes in the future when his character's father is dying and this show has had moments of brilliance, it just does seem to be suffering a little from celebrating its own knowing celebrity culture parody at times. At times it does feel like Marty Kaan and Ari Gold are cut from the same cloth, the Matt Damon cameos in both shows setting a lowering of the bar also seem to be a point of similarity.
Yes, I much prefered the different client each week in S1 and 2 (though S2 did have the on-going casino story). I really didn't care about Dolla Hyde or whatever they were called.
The fact that most of them aren't really likeable is part of the point of the show. They do work in the world of management consultancy which known for big egos rather than nice people.
S3 has just finished at US pace. I have no idea where UK TV is up to.
I agree with most of this but, I liked the Dollahyde storyline.
Season 3. I have been watching online so I'm on US pace. I don't know if or when, season 2 is starting in the UK.
Referring to your 1st paragraph of this quote, I think that the only reason that, Jeannie put business ahead of anything else with Marty was because he rejected her. However now that she knows that, he loves her, she might put her romantic feelings, ahead of the business. Also, I don't think that she deliberately wanted to take the business, away from Marty. Remember what she said at, the end of episode 12 of season 3.
I like Doug but I think that they need to show another side to him.
I don't think that, there is any need to bring up the fact that Malcolm slept with Monica.
