  One of the very best ways to do this is using Airplay to an "Apple TV" box (~£70) connected to the TV. The videos go over your local WiFi network to this box.

  I am not aware if any of the (much) cheaper 3rd party cable suppliers have yet cracked how to do a reliable clone of the Apple cable.
