    Sounds like you had aready drunk it, Niall - didnt you read my post before wading in? I offered a conditional alterative for the connection of the DVDR to the TV depending on its connectivity - HDMI or Scart.

    You exclaim 'STOP' to the poor confused OP and then go on to describe the set up as in my post, minus the optional HDMI clause.

    The set up for digibox, DVDR, TV has been described on this forum countless times and can be sorted in the few lines I penned, please dont keep over complicating what is, in effect, a 2 cable system.

    Yes, we have to tell OPs that the input for their DVDR is 'channel' AV2, yes, we can walk them through changing the settings to RGB for better pictures etc but let them walk before they try to run.

    Once a picture is on the screen then we can refine things a little.

    Hope you dont have a hang over, lol!
